Playing Porn Star Made Amanda Seyfried 'Comfortable in Own Skin'

Dale Robinette/Sundance(NEW YORK) -- Though she keeps her clothes on for Allure magazine’s annual nude issue, actress Amanda Seyfried is uncensored when it comes to talking about her body and preparing for her role as Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace.

“Maybe this is backwards, but because she found the power in herself and in her body at a point, it made me feel comfortable in my own skin in a way that I hadn’t been,” Seyfried told Allure of playing the porn star. “I’ve got parts of me that I wish were tighter, but I don’t kill myself, because it’s not worth it.”

For one thing, the 27-year-old actress no longer considers her breasts “sacks of fat,” as she once referred to them in an interview.

“Actually, I saw a picture a couple of days ago from when I was 19, and my boobs were way bigger. They were a D, and now they’re a small C, because I lost weight,” she told Allure. “There was something so beautiful about the size of them. When I look back, I’m like, ‘Why did I always give myself such a hard time?’”

She also used her experience playing Lovelace to improve her singing performance for Les Miserables.

Seyfried said she imagined “deep-throating” to “get that feeling in the back of your throat, and then sing. That’s where your larynx is.”

While Seyfried did not disrobe for the magazine’s May issue, on sale April 22, four television actresses — Naya Rivera, Jennifer Morrison, Christa Miller and Clare Bowen — did get naked for famed photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Rivera, who plays lesbian cheerleader Santana Lopez on Glee, told Allure that she’s finally comfortable in her own skin.

She was skinnier when she worked at a previous job at Hooters, she said, but “always self-conscious.”

“It’s so funny now to feel completely different,” she added.

Glee has made her something of a sex symbol in the lesbian community.

“It’s kind of cool,” she said. “I get more girls than my boyfriend.”

Kate Beckinsale's ‘Embarrassing’ Mom Problem

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Hollywood didn’t prepare Kate Beckinsale for one crucial role: being the mother of a teenage daughter.

“I haven’t been embarrassing [to somebody] before,” the Total Recall star told Allure magazine. Though she smolders on the cover of the August issue, she revealed that Lily, her 13-year-old with ex-boyfriend Michael Sheen, isn’t impressed. “I can’t dance at a party where there are teenagers without [them] clearing the dance floor,” she said.

Beckinsale joked, "Those are the things that make me go, ‘F**k, I’m old’ … When you’re a parent, everyone leaves.”

But the 38-year-old actress is alright with the other joys of aging.

“What is it about a woman being in her late 30s that brings out the ‘Oh my gosh, are you worried?’ questions?” Beckinsale said. “Worried? What about? 38, 39, 40, 50! Great! Still alive!”

Still, she’s thankful for what she’s got. “I haven’t suddenly gained 20 pounds that won’t go away, or [grown] a beard,” she said. “That probably will happen, but it hasn’t yet.”

Heidi Klum Goes Nude for Allure Cover Shoot

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Heidi Klum is baring it all in a cover shoot for Allure magazine’s May issue.

Klum, a mother of four, said she had no issue with posing nude.

“I think you just have to be comfortable in your skin,” said the 38-year old.  “But I’m a nudist in any case, I’ve never had a problem with my body and I don’t really care what people think.”

She told the magazine she has never had any cosmetic surgery.

“Ask me again when I’m 65, but I’m proud to be able to say, in this day and age, I haven’t done anything,” she said.  “Everyone has a view of what’s pretty and what’s not pretty, and [surgery] just doesn’t look pretty to me.”

She discusses Seal, her husband of seven years from whom she just filed for divorce.

“If I had to go back in time and say, ‘I could have changed this or that…’ No. I don’t resent anything that ever happened,” she said. “Things just turn out the way they turn out.”

She also discusses her years before becoming a Victoria’s Secret model, saying she did not model in fashion shows and was rejected by her Project Runway co-host Michael Kors in her 20s.

The issue will be available April 24.
