Man Flashes Genitals During ‘Chipmunks’ Movie

Edward Brown, 34, was arrested by police after he flashed movie theater patrons during a showing of Alvin and the Chipmunks in Chicago on Jan. 5, 2012. (ABC News)(CHICAGO) -- Moviegoers taking in an afternoon showing of the G-rated Alvin and the Chipmunks film were surprised at the show they got instead: a male adult flasher, walking around completely naked in the theater.

Police arrested Edward L. Brown, 34, of Chicago, at the Classic Cinema after the movie theater alerted them to the naked patron. Brown reportedly pulled the stunt because a woman had promised him crack and sex if he sat in the front row of the theater and took off his clothes.

Movie theater employees stopped the showing of the latest Chipmunks film and began escorting patrons out of the theater after a viewer notified them of the naked man, police said.

Witnesses told police that about 20 to 30 minutes into the show, Brown walked completely naked in the front of the theater, turned to face the audience, and exposed his genitals to the crowd, which included children as young as 4 years old.

Brown was charged with sexual exploitation of a child and disorderly conduct.

Weekend Box Office: 'Mission: Impossible' Tops 'Sherlock,' 'Chipmunks'

Stockbyte/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) -- It wasn't the merriest of Christmases in Hollywood.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol got a stocking stuffed full of cash, winning the weekend with an estimated $26.5 million. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows came in second and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked came in third.

None of the three sequels are performing as well as their predecessors, and that comes as tough news to those in the business. Hollywood needed to end the year with a bang and revenues are behind last year's earnings.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin rounded out the top five.
