Zsa Zsa Gabor Undergoes Amputation of Most of Her Right Leg

Photo Courtesy - WireImage/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Zsa Zsa Gabor is recovering from an amputation of most of her right leg, according to KTLA-TV.

After undergoing the surgery Friday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, her rep said the actress was doing well.  She's expected to remain in the hospital for another week or two.

Gabor, who turns 94 in a few weeks, initially faced the possibility of amputation due to gangrene early this month, when she checked into the hospital.  The decision to amputate reportedly was made after attempts failed to fight the early stages of the leg infection with antibiotics.

Gabor has battled a series of health problems since breaking her hip last July.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Awaiting Decision Regarding Possible Leg Amputation

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images/ WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Doctors are taking a wait-and-see approach with Zsa Zsa Gabor, who was taken to a Los Angeles hospital on Sunday and could have part of her right leg amputated.

According to RadarOnline.com, Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, said Monday that doctors may wait two or three days before deciding whether to amputate part of her leg due to gangrene.  He said doctors first want to see how the 93-year-old actress responds to the antibiotics she's taken since checking into the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Gabor has suffered a series of health problems since breaking her hip last July.  Her publicist said over the weekend that Gabor was facing the possibility of amputation after doctors examined a lesion on her leg.
