Angelina Jolie Makes First Public Appearance Since Double Mastectomy

Photo by Astrid Stawiarz/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Angelina Jolie feels “wonderful” and is “grateful for all the support” she said Sunday at her first public appearance since she announced her decision to undergo a double mastectomy.

“I’ve been very happy just to see the discussion about women’s health expanded, and that means the world to me,” Jolie told the BBC at the world premiere of Brad Pitt’s new thriller, World War Z, in London. “After losing my mom to these issues, I’m very grateful for it.”

Jolie, 37, revealed in a New York Times op-ed on May 14 that she had undergone a preventative double mastectomy after discovering she carries the BRCA1 gene, which increases the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.

“My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in each woman,” she wrote in a New York Times op-ed. “Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much as I could.”

Jolie’s mother Marcheline Bertrand died from ovarian cancer at 56, and the actress’s aunt died of breast cancer last month.

While the couple walked together at the distinctive black carpet at the premiere, Pitt choked up when asked about Jolie’s decision to go through the preventative procedures.

“I get a little emotional about it, because of just the act itself, what she did for our family, and then telling her story to others,” he told the BBC. “What it means to others has really surprised me.

“It was a very moving experience, it certainly brought our family tighter together,” Pitt said. “It’s just the bravest thing to me.”

Of Pitt, Jolie said his support had been nothing less than “extraordinary.”

“He’s such a wonderful man and a wonderful father and I’m very, very lucky,” she said at the premiere.

Eric Charbonneau/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a new trick up their sleeves -- they're set to produce a new wine next month.

The rose wine will be called Miraval, Bloomberg reports.  The wine comes from grapes grown at Chateau Miraval, the couple's 1,000-acre estate in Correns, France.  The rose is being produced in a joint venture with the Famille Perrin of winemakers.

Pitt and Jolie both attended rose blending sessions to perfect the taste, and even had a hand in designing the bottle and label, which will have the names “Jolie-Pitt and Perrin" on it.

“We are intimately involved and quite enthused over the wine project with our friends the Perrin family,” a rep for Pitt told Bloomberg.

The new wine label is expected to produce a white by the end of the summer and a red by next year.

Beyonce, Jay-Z Top "Forbes'" List of World's Highest-Paid Celeb Couples

Al Bello/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Beyonce and Jay-Z are movin' on up.  When Forbes released its list of the world's highest-paid celebrity couples last year, the hip-hop power couple was the runner-up for the top spot.  This year, they've climbed to number one.

The magazine points out that though Beyonce put the brakes on her whirlwind schedule in 2011 to welcome into the world her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, the mommy still raked in dough during her maternity leave.  According to Forbes, Beyonce pulled in large sums from her old hits, and that's on top of the money she's made from her platinum-selling album 4.

Between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012, Forbes reports that Beyonce earned $40 million, thanks in part to her non-musical ventures, including a fragrance collection.

As for Jay-Z, he made millions as part of The Throne, which sold out arenas on a global tour.  He stacked slightly less dough than his wife, with Jay earning $38 million between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012.  Some of his money came from non-musical enterprises, including cosmetics company Carol's Daughter and ad firm Translation, according to Forbes.

Together, Beyonce and Jay-Z collected an annual income of $78 million.

Second on Forbes' list is supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her quarterback-husband, Tom Brady.  Combined, the duo pulled in $72 million between May of 2011 and May of 2012, thanks to her modeling work, his NFL salary, and their respective endorsement deals.

David and Victoria Beckham rank third with $54 million, ahead of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who raked in $45 million, and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, who collected $40 million.

Angelina Jolie Hates Her Engagement Ring?

ABC/Lorenzo Bevilaqua(NEW YORK) -- After seven years together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally got engaged last month -- but there's one problem. Jolie hates her engagement ring, In Touch Weekly reports. In fact, the ring was nowhere to be seen April 22, when the 36-year-old actress met the foreign minister of Ecuador.

The emerald-cut diamond ring, worth an estimated $500,000, was designed by Pitt and his longtime jeweler Robert Procop. Still, “[Jolie] isn’t fond of it,” a source told the magazine. “Nothing against Brad’s design. She’s just never been enamored of white diamonds.”

Reportedly, Jolie instead wanted an emerald ring, not an emerald cut, because "emeralds are her favorite.”  Sources also say Jolie is "acting like a bridezilla" and has been complaining about Pitt’s choice of ring.

Pitt's manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, told ABC News at the time of the engagement that Pitt proposed as "a promise for the future" and to please their six kids.
