New Pictures Show Anne Hathaway's Catwoman Ears

Jim Spellman/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- New pictures have surfaced of Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman suit from the set of The Dark Knight Rises.

The new pictures, seen on the gossip site TooFab.com, show the actress wearing a black mask and "cat ears" -- fans had decried those missing details in earlier pictures.

And there's apparently a "real world" explanation for the headdress: it seems her character's nightvision goggles can flip back behind her head, leaving two black "ears" when viewed from the front.

Anne Hathaway Responds to Criticism of Catwoman Photo

Jim Spellman/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Anne Hathaway knows there are fans and critics who didn't approve of the photo released last week of her as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight Rises.

In the picture, which was posted on the movie's official website, she's seen wearing high-tech glasses and a skintight black outfit while riding Batman's batpod -- a far cry from the Catwoman depicted in other Batman projects like the 1960s TV series or 1992's Batman Returns, featuring Michelle Pfeiffer in that role.

While speaking with MTV News, Hathaway reassured fans that there's more to her version of Catwoman than meets the eye, saying, "If you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do."

She added, "If you did like the photo, you have excellent taste."

The Dark Knight Rises opens next July.

Fans Get First Peek at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman

Jim Spellman/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- After last week's leaks of footage of The Dark Knight Rises that revealed actor Tom Hardy in action as villain Bane, Bat-fans were wondering when they'd get a peek of another key character from the upcoming Batman film: Catwoman.

The movie's official website has just posted a single picture of Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle, the animal-loving cat burglar who becomes Catwoman.

The picture shows Hathaway astride Batman's batpod, wearing a skin-tight black leather suit, topped with a set of high tech specs to partially obscure her face -- no cowl with kitty cat ears, as she's usually portrayed.

The Dark Knight Rises, also starring Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman, hits theaters next summer.

Jared Wickerham/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- After last week's leaks of footage of The Dark Knight Rises that revealed actor Tom Hardy in action as villain Bane, Bat-fans were wondering when they'd get a peek of another key character from the upcoming Batman film: Catwoman.

The movie's official website on Friday posted a single picture of Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle, the animal loving cat burglar who becomes Catwoman.

The picture shows Hathaway astride Batman's Batcycle, wearing what appears to be a first-generation Catwoman outfit: a skin-tight black leather suit, topped with a set of high tech specs to partially obscure her face -- no cowl with kitty cat ears, as she's usually portrayed.

The Dark Knight Rises, also starring Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman, hits theaters next summer.

Anne Hathaway Talks Oscars, Relationships with 'Harper's Bazaar'

Jim Spellman/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Anne Hathaway is on good terms with her Oscars co-host James Franco, despite his unusual critique of their widely panned performance.

During an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman in early April, Franco said, "I love her, but Anne Hathaway is so energetic, I think the Tasmanian Devil would look stoned standing next to Anne Hathaway...She has a lot of energy."

Hathaway says she wasn't offended by the comparison.  She tells Harper's Bazaar magazine, "I let James know that a whirling dervish is a more flattering comparison than a Tasmanian Devil.  I called him, and we emailed a bit."

She doesn't regret hosting the Oscars, calling it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Hathaway is probably focused more now on her relationship with actor Adam Shulman, whom she's dated for more than two-and-a-half years.  She says, "So far, it's worked out great."

Hathaway admits that she'd previously been in more dramatic relationships, which, she says, "has its wonderful side, of course...but also it was exhausting, and sometimes it would freak me out."  Her last boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, pleaded guilty to swindling money from investors after he convinced them he had connections with the Vatican.

Celebrities Sign Open Letter to Obama Supporting Same-Sex Marriage

Jupiterimages/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- Ellen DeGeneres, her wife Portia DeGeneres, Anne Hathaway and Glee actress Jane Lynch are calling on President Obama to legalize same-sex marriage.

The Freedom to Marry organization says those celebrities and others have signed an open letter to Obama that reads, in part, "We ask you now for your leadership on ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage -- an exclusion that harms millions of Americans each day.  Whether to end discrimination in marriage is a question America has faced before, and faces again today."

Freedom to Marry is asking the public to co-sign the letter, which it says will be presented to the White House in the spring.

Martin Sheen, Eric McCormack, and singers Melissa Etheridge and Mya are also among the group of entertainers, athletes, and business leaders who signed the letter.

James Franco, Anne Hathaway on Hosting Hollywood's Big Night

Photo Courtesy - ABC News(LOS ANGELES) -- James Franco and Anne Hathaway, now in the midst of prepping for Sunday's Academy Awards, said they originally turned down the offer to host Hollywood's biggest night.

"I never thought that I'd be asked to host the Oscars. I was honored--honored, but I just thought, no, I got to say no," James Franco told ABC News’ Robin Roberts in an interview aired Friday.

"When I got asked to do it ... I said, "No, thank you, I don't think is really for me," Anne Hathaway said. "And then they called back a couple weeks later and said, 'Well, James Franco's in.' And I said, 'Ooh, that's going to be interesting.'"

Franco, 32, is nominated for his first Oscar for his performance in 127 Hours, the riveting story of a daredevil mountain climber's desperate fight for survival. Hathaway, 28, is the youngest Oscar host ever. She was previously nominated in 2008 for her performance in Rachel Getting Married.

Those behind the awards show hope having young, bright stars like Franco and Hathaway will draw younger viewers this year.

"I felt a lot of the previous hosts were quite relevant. But the young and hip seemed to be the buzz words that keep getting thrown around. I'm trying to figure out which one I am," Hathaway joked.

Ricky Gervais Pokes Fun at Oscar Hosts, Himself

Photo Courtesy - Meghan Sinclair/Team Coco(LOS ANGELES) -- Just in case Oscar co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway are struggling with their opening monologue for Sunday's ceremony, Ricky Gervais has written a few lines for them.

Gervais, who ruffled some feathers with his biting commentary as host of the Golden Globes last month, scripted an opening for Franco and Hathaway that he posted on his blog. In it, Franco would crack the following joke about his Oscar-nominated role in 127 Hours: "You probably know me from 127 Hours, where I play a man trapped in an enclosed space who decides he would rather cut his own arm off than stay where he was. Now that sounds 'way out' but wait till half way through this [expletive] ceremony and you'll start to identify with him."

In Gervais' script, Hathaway would then joke, "I'm the new Catwoman. The first white woman to play that role since Michelle Pfeiffer. I want it to be an inspiration to all white people everywhere. Your dreams can come true in Hollywood too." Hathaway has been cast as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

The rest of the script mostly pokes fun at Gervais himself, with Franco referring to Gervais as "that rude obnoxious one who played the Steve Carell part in the English remake of The Office."  Gervais, of course, co-created and starred in The Office in England before it made the jump to America.

Keira Knightley, Other Stars to Audition for 'Dark Knight' Sequel

Photo Courtesy - Warner Bros. Pictures(LOS ANGELES) -- Keira Knightley could put the "knight" in The Dark Knight sequel.  The Hollywood Reporter says she's set to audition for a role in the sequel to The Dark Knight sometime in the next two weeks.

Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel and 127 Hours actress Kata Mara are also expected to test for unspecified roles in The Dark Knight Rises, which will open in July of 2012.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there will be two significant female roles in the film, one of which is Talia, the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, the villain portrayed by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins.  Talia is also a love interest for Batman and the mother of his son.

The Dark Knight Rises, which will again star Christian Bale as Batman, could start filming in May.
