Report: Avril Lavigne Splits from Brody Jenner

Peter Kramer/NBC(LOS ANGELES) -- Avril Lavigne and her boyfriend of nearly two years, reality TV star Brody Jenner, have split, reportedly because she was too controlling.

According to Us Weekly, the couple broke up last week, with one source saying, "He hasn't worked and he wants to.  They were both unhappy because he wants to have his career, she wants him to stay with her."

The source claims Lavigne forced the former Hills star to reject various TV offers he received.

Lavigne was romantically linked to Jenner in early 2010, just months after she filed for divorce from rocker Deryck Whibley.  Later that year, they reportedly both got tattoos of each other's names.

Avril LaVigne Covers Ke$ha's 'Tik Tok' for British Radio

D Dipasupil/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Before super-producer Dr. Luke created hits for Katy Perry and Ke$ha, he worked with Avril Lavigne.  So it's not so surprising that Avril would feel comfortable covering one of Dr. Luke's biggest hits of the past year for BBC's Radio 1 Live Lounge, a show that features artists doing acoustic covers of other performer's songs.  Avril did an acoustic version of Ke$ha's smash hit Tik Tok for the show, and perfectly mimicked Ke$ha's half-rapping, half-singing delivery.

Avril's new CD, Goodbye Lullaby, is in stores now.  She'll appear on The View on Wednesday, and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, March 14.  On Tuesday, she'll be on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Chelsea Lately will welcome her on March 21.

New Rihanna Song Samples Avril Lavigne

Photo Courtesy - Island Def JamA song on Rihanna's new album, Loud, will reportedly sample a track from singer Avril Lavigne.  The blog got an exclusive preview of the disc earlier this week, and reveals that one track features a sample of Lavigne.  The blog reports that the song, called "Cheers," samples Lavigne's 2002 hit song "I'm with You."   According to JustJared, the song "is so unbelievably catchy," and adds, "This song will be so huge in clubs, bars and everywhere that serves alcohol."

As far as the other songs on the record, the blog reports that one, called "S&M," is very "naughty," and features lyrics like, "Sticks and stones may break my bones/But chains and whips excite me."  The album is set to be released in November.
