(NEW YORK) -- Matthew Morrison was supposed to kick off his solo tour in June, right after the Glee Live! tour wrapped up. However, those plans have changed.
Morrison announced on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday that he's decided to postpone his own solo dates for a sting as the opening act on the upcoming New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys tour.
Morrison's dates with the NKOTBSB tour will start July 6 and run through Aug. 7. He'll do some solo dates after that.
In a statement, he said, "This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I am so appreciative of my fans and I'm planning to give them a great show."
Morrison's self-titled debut album is in stores now.
