Eminem Takes Crown from Lady Gaga for Best-Selling Digital Album

Aftermath Records(NEW YORK) -- Eminem's Recovery now officially holds the record for the best-selling digital album in history, according to Yahoo!'s Chart Watch column.

Recovery took the spot from Lady Gaga's The Fame by selling 922,000 digital copies so far, compared to The Fame’s 919,000.  Recovery also sold its first 500,000 digital copies in just six weeks, which is faster than any other album to date.

The first album to ever hold the title for best-selling digital album was Coldplay’s X&Y, back in 2006.  It eventually lost out to The Fray's How to Save a Life.  Then, The Fray lost the title to John Mayer's Continuum, until Coldplay took it back with Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.  Gaga then took the title from Coldplay.
