'Star Wars: The Complete Saga' Lands in Stores Friday

Ethan Miller/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- To quote Darth Vader, "This will be a day long remembered" for Star Wars fans, as George Lucas' groundbreaking film saga will be released in Blu-ray for the first time.

All six films have been extensively remastered for the high definition format, and the box set, Star Wars: The Complete Saga, is packed with more than 40 hours of extras, including behind-the-scenes footage, rare deleted scenes, documentaries, and other material.

LucasArts product manager Gavin Leung tells ABC News Radio, "All six movies are going to be in hi-def, in 5.1 Surround Sound, it's going to look gorgeous.  Everything is very crisp, everything is retouched."

While fans have griped about additional tweaks Lucas made to some of the films for the Blu-rays, there's more than enough to keep them satisfied.

"There's something for everybody," Leung says, including well-known spoofs of the series "going way back to something that...Bill Murray [did] on Saturday Night Live...to some of the more recent things from Family Guy, and Robot Chicken."
