Britney Spears: 'I Like the Salty and Sweet'

Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- As the mom of two growing boys, Britney Spears admits it can be hard to stay in shape.

“I love white chocolate, and I love potato chips! I like the salty and sweet,” the “Toxic” singer and mother of sons Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6, recently told Extra. “When [the boys] come over, the snacks are constantly piling up, and I constantly have to feed them. I’m like, ‘Jesus I want fried chicken too!’”

To counter her love for junk food, Spears, 31, sticks to a workout routine.

“I really love doing yoga. I have two separate trainers that come in and we play with it. I don’t like doing the same thing all the time, but my main ritual is yoga. I do a lot of yoga,” she told Extra.

She’s showing off the results of her hard work in a teeny white bikini on the cover of the June issue of Shape magazine.

In the magazine, Spears expounds on her exercise regimen, telling the writer that she does 90 minutes of yoga twice a week, as well as hour-long cardio sessions three times a week with her trainer.

One reason she’s working so hard to stay in shape: a Las Vegas residency that will start this fall.

"The [Vegas] performances won’t be simple … a massive party from start to finish,” she told the magazine, on newsstands May 20.  “And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed.”

Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Engagement Online

Jamie Lynn Spears/Instagram(NEW YORK) -- Less than two months after Britney Spears’ engagement to former agent Jason Trawick ended, her younger sister announced her own engagement Saturday night.

Actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears, 21, shared an Instagram picture of her diamond studded engagement ring, along with the caption: “Guessss what????”

She later posted “:) #hedidgood” and shared a photo of the happy couple.

Spears and fiance Jamie Watson, 30, have reportedly been together on and off for three years. Watson told the New York Post Page Six in January that the couple had discussed marriage and were trying to work things out.

Britney Spears Leaving "The X Factor"

Nino Munoz / FOX(LOS ANGELES) -- After weeks of speculation, Britney Spears has made it official: She’s not returning to The X Factor.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement sent by her publicist to ABC News. The reason: she wants to start making new music.

“I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio,” she said. “Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much!  I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Spears served as a judge on the Fox reality competition for one season and reportedly made $15 million. While some thought the formerly problem-prone pop star would struggle on live TV, she was a surprise hit, and won over critics with her array of facial expressions.

She joins a group of ’90s pop stars who are getting back into the studio. Justin Timberlake and Destiny’s Child announced this week that they’re putting out new music soon.

Fox Exec Open to Having Britney Spears Back on "The X Factor"

Nino Munoz / FOX(PASADENA, Calif.) -- Though Us Weekly reported two weeks ago that Britney Spears will be fired from The X Factor, the head of Fox Entertainment says the pop star's status on the singing competition is still up in the air.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday at a Television Critics Association panel in Pasadena, Calif., Kevin Reilly said he and X Factor creator/judge Simon Cowell haven't discussed Spears' future on the panel, since Cowell has been on vacation.  However, Reilly did say he would welcome her back onto the show.

Reilly was pleased with Spears' performance during her first season on The X Factor this past fall.

"I actually thought it went very, very well.  I mean, it was sort of fraught with unknowns, you know.  And I think Britney did a really good job," he said on Tuesday.

Reilly believes that Spears added intrigue to The X Factor because people are fascinated with her.

He explained, "She’s just an interesting figure who’s lived a unique life and I thought she brought some of that and people got to know her a little bit.  Maybe some people were waiting for, you know, more drastic displays of some nature that never came, so for those expecting that, it didn’t happen."

Reilly also noted that he was disappointed to see L.A. Reid leave the panel following the most recent season.

Britney Spears May Write Novel Loosely Based on Her Life

D Dipasupil/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- So much has been written about Britney Spears, that it's about time the tables were turned.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, Britney is in "discussions" to write a novel partly based on her own life.

Britney's spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Britney's talking with It Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, about the project, which would "incorporate fictionalized versions of her own experiences."  The publication says the project would be similar to L.A. Candy, a novel written by reality star Lauren Conrad, about a girl who moves to L.A. and becomes a reality star.

The Hollywood Reporter predicts that Britney will likely receive a "substantial" advance for the book, based on her general fame and her current high profile as a judge on The X Factor.

Sam Lutfi's Case Against Spears Family Dismissed

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Britney Spears and her parents have emerged victorious in a legal case brought against them by her purported ex-manager, Sam Lutfi.

According to KABC-TV, a Los Angeles judge on Thursday determined there was insufficient evidence to prove Lufti's claims of libel, battery and breach of contract. The decision came in the midst of a trial that began a few weeks ago.

The case will be formally dismissed at 10 a.m. local time Friday. Lutfi has already vowed to appeal the ruling.

Lutfi had claimed that Britney owed him money from his stint as her manager. He also alleged that her mom, Lynne Spears, libeled him in her 2008 book, Through the Storm, and that the pop star's dad, Jamie Spears, once punched him.

During the trial, Lutfi's attorney claimed his client was made a "scapegoat" for Britney's erratic behavior in the past. Lutfi later stated in court that he was subjected to death threats after the release of Through the Storm, which he argued portrayed him as a manipulator.

Britney's parents filed a motion earlier this week to have the battery and breach of contract allegations dismissed.

Britney Spears’ Paparazzo Ex-Boyfriend Recounts Their Romance

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Britney Spears’ past came back to haunt her again Tuesday, as Adnan Ghalib, the paparazzo she once dated, recounted their romance and her downward spiral during 2008.

Testifying in court as part of a suit brought by Sam Lufti against Spears and her family, Ghalib, 40, said he went from photographing the pop star to dating her in December 2007. He testified that he saw her “daily” during their time together and denied that he ever saw Spears’ former “manager” Sam Lutfi hide her cell phones, cut off phone lines, or withhold access to her dog, all allegations that Spears’ parents have made against Lutfi.

Ghalib alleged that Spears’s mom Lynne once tried to get him to speak negatively about Lutfi.

“She requested that I say [to the press] Sam Lutfi was responsible for Britney Spears’s behavior,” he said.

According to People magazine, during cross-examination, Ghalib said he bought a disposable cell phone at Lutfi’s request to be smuggled to Spears in mid-2008, months after her father obtained legal control over her. He also confirmed that a judge ordered him to stay away from Spears for three years and admitted he was once arrested while evading a process server in the case.

Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, took the stand after Ghalib. He testified that he never chased Lutfi around the kitchen counter and that he never punched him, allegations that Lutfi made against him last week.

Lutfi’s mother, sister and several other family members appeared in court Tuesday for the first time.

Lutfi’s case against the Spears family is expected to conclude Tuesday, and the pop star’s legal team will begin their defense. Lutfi is suing Spears for unpaid fees during the time he supposedly served as her manager, Jamie Spears for allegedly punching him and Lynne Spears for purportedly defaming him in her 2008 book about her daughter’s breakdown.
