Katy Perry Confirms Tour Will Feature 'Smell-O-Vision'

Photo Courtesy - Frazer Harrison/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Katy Perry arranged for her album Teenage Dream to be impregnated with the smell of cotton candy, and when she launches her tour to promote the disc, she's taking that concept one step further.

Talking about her upcoming California Dreams tour, which hits North America in June, Perry tells Rolling Stone, "It's the first concert that's going to smell good.  It's going to smell like you're in cotton candy heaven.  It's a fun little nuance."

In addition to piping the scent of cotton candy throughout the arena, Perry tells Rolling Stone that her tour will also feature 15 costume changes and an actual story line.  She says, "The show has a Broadway feel to it.  It's...kind of loosely based on my life, but a cartoon version."

She adds, "I just really want to raise the bar.  Touring is no longer an ordinary thing where you play an instrument in jeans and a T-shirt...I'm definitely bringing the pizazz, with a lot of bells and whistles."

Another new twist to her tour, Perry says, will be built-in downtime.  She explains, "I have some two-week breathers where I can see my husband and regain some stamina."  She's also adding some time to her schedule so she can actually experience some of the cities she'll be visiting.

Katy Perry Announces Tour Dates, Teases New Music Video

Photo Courtesy - Capitol RecordsKaty Perry has announced the dates for her European tour leg.  The singer's California Dreams tour will start overseas on Feb. 20 in Lisbon, Portugal, and is scheduled to wrap up on April 5 in Glasgow, Scotland.

But fans elsewhere won't be excluded, as Perry wrote on Twitter Monday, "P.S. My dates in the USA, [Australia] & more are being put in soon, of COURSE! Don't you worry."

Perry also used Twitter to deliver a teaser video for her upcoming video for her new single, "Firework."  The video is a montage of still photos of Katy at a party, with fellow partygoers seen jumping into a fountain in their underwear.  There's also a same-sex couple kissing and someone who appears to be a cancer patient admiring a fireworks display.  The song's lyrics are superimposed on the montage.  No word when we can expect the actual clip.´╗┐
