Jon Gosselin Happy 'Kate Plus 8' Got Canceled

Amy Sussman/WireImage for Discovery Communications(LOS ANGELES) -- Now that TLC has canceled Kate Plus 8, Jon Gosselin says he's "very relieved."

In an interview with RadarOnline, Gosselin, who sired the titular eight children with ex-wife Kate -- and left reality show stardom behind when their Jon & Kate Plus 8 was re-tooled following their divorce -- said, "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."

Kate Gosselin, meanwhile, isn't giving up on the spotlight just yet.  She spent the night of TLC's announcement re-tweeting messages from the show's fans and pitching daughter Mady to TV producers.

"Aww that Mady... So well spoken! Wants to do MORE tv!!! Disney anyone? Lol," Kate posted.

"I plan on staying on tv :)," she also tweeted, when asked if she would return to her pre-TV career as a nurse.

TNT Pulls Plug on 'Men of a Certain Age'

Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- The TNT dramedy Men of a Certain Age won't have a chance to grow old with the cable network. TNT on Friday pulled the plug on the acclaimed Ray Romano dramedy series after two seasons, citing disappointing ratings, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show also featured Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher, the latter of whom received an Emmy nomination last week for his role on the show.

MTV Cancels Controversial Teen Drama 'Skins'

John Rogers/Getty Images (NEW YORK) -- MTV has scuttled Skins from its lineup.

The racy teen drama, which drew the ire of the Parents Television Council when it premiered earlier this year for its depiction of underage sex and drug use, has been canceled after just one season, according to

MTV says of its adaptation of the hit British series, "Skins is a global television phenomenon that, unfortunately, didn't connect with a U.S. audience as much as we had hoped."

Following the debut of Skins, which was rated MA for mature content, the PTC asked the chairmen of the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees, as well as the Department of Justice, to investigate the show for child pornography and exploitation.  The show subsequently lost a number of advertisers, including Taco Bell and the Wrigley Company.´╗┐

Kate Gosselin: Kids Were Not Expelled

Photo Courtesy - WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Addressing rumors that two of her children were expelled from school, Kate Gosselin tells Entertainment Tonight that the two kids are simply being tutored at home, "with a teacher who is working closely with our kindergarten teachers in school, doing the identical curriculum," she said.

"The pressure was getting to them," she said. "The goal is to get them back into school as soon as possible."

The now-divorced star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 also addressed rumors that her upcoming reality show on TLC, Twist of Kate, has been canceled, saying, "We're sort of still trying to shape it...So no, not canceled."

This week wasn't all damage control for the Gosselin's. A source close to Jon and Kate revealed to ABC News that the two parents amicably agreed to share custody of their brood this holiday weekend.
