Casting Changes Coming to 'Glee'

Jason Kempin/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The hit Fox television series, Glee, is making some changes to its cast, as Chord Overstreet will reportedly not be appearing as a series regular when the show returns in the fall, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“Gleeks” may still get to catch an occasional glimpse of the star, as Overstreet, who plays the character “Sam Evans” on the show, could return to McKinley High in a guest star role, sources tell TVLine.com.

On Friday Overstreet seemed to hint about the casting change on Twitter, as he tweeted: “well its been a good yr too bad its over, time for summer and starting fresh.”

'Jersey Shore' to be Recast?

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- MTV is denying a report that it plans to recast its hit show Jersey Shore.

US Weekly reported Friday that the show's producers planned to recast the show after the original members shoot season five this summer in Seaside Heights, N.J.

A new cast would be "a lot cheaper," a source told the magazine. The current housemates each reportedly make $100,000 per episode.

“We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun," an MTV spokesperson tells ABC News. "We currently have no plans to recast the show.”

New Cast for 'Glee'?

Jason Kempin/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Graduation day can be a big challenge or a big opportunity for creators of high school-themed television. And according to Glee creator Ryan Murphy, next season may be the last for some number of graduating seniors.

In an interview Friday with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Murphy confirmed that the cast will turn over at the end of next season. "The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years," Murphy said. "We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

Murphy continued, "We've got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female lynchpins of the series, but I think the fun thing about the show is it's a celebration of youth and talent and I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series."
