(NEW YORK) -- Dave Chappelle is denying a report that he's planning a new television show that would air via a paid subscription service such as Netflix, Hulu, or Sony's Crackle. The website The Daily wrote that the former Comedy Central star was going to make his triumphant return on the Web, but the comedian's people are saying otherwise. Chappelle's rep Carla Simms told Entertainment Weekly rumors of his return are "absolutely untrue."
Chappelle caught many of his fans -- and network executives -- off guard when he bolted from his hit Comedy Central series Chapelle's Show in 2005. In the process he abandoned the $50 million paycheck he would have earned over the next two years if he had stayed.
