Man Charged with Stalking Jennifer Lawrence

ABC/Rick Rowell(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) -- A man accused of stalking actress Jennifer Lawrence was charged Monday in Louisville, KY with interstate stalking and repeated harassing phone communications after allegedly contacting the actress's brother, Blaine Lawrence, over 200 times last month.

Zhao Han Cong was first taken into custody last month after flying to Louisville, which is Lawrence's hometown, in an attempt to get close to the actress's brother. The 23-year-old resident of Vancouver, BC allegedly asked Blaine to introduce him to his sister in an attempt to "protect" her. Cong allegedly said "bad things" would happen to the Lawrence family if he didn't meet the Oscar-winner. He also referred to himself as Jennifer's "husband for life."

Cong was apprehended and placed under psychiatric observation last month after he went to a Louisville police station to ask for Jennifer Lawrence's address. He was arrested by federal officials May 7 following his release. Last Friday, he was ordered held for additional psychiatric observation and testing, at the request of his public defender.

Cong has not yet entered a plea in response to Monday's charges.

Lindsay Lohan Won't Face Charges in NYC Nightclub Altercation

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Lindsay Lohan will not face criminal charges in New York City stemming from an alleged nightclub altercation last November.

It's a rare bit of good legal news for the troubled actress, who earlier this month agreed to three months in mandatory rehab as part of a deal with prosecutors in Los Angeles. There, she faced charges that she lied to police about whether she was behind the wheel in a June car crash that sent her to the hospital briefly.

The New York City case involved an alleged altercation between Lohan and a woman named Tiffany Mitchell at Club Avenue in Manhattan.

A law enforcement source tells ABC News that nightclub video which purported to show the altercation was inconclusive.  The source adds that despite a thorough investigation, there were not enough eyewitness accounts to bring a case.  Furthermore, the source says, Mitchell fell outside the club as she was being escorted out by police, and the fall may have been the source of her injuries, not the alleged altercation.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to comment on the case.

In a statement, Mitchell's lawyer, Gloria Allred, left the door open to a potential civil suit against Lohan, saying, "Ms. Mitchell is considering all of her legal options in the civil justice system because of what she suffered that night."

LL Cool J’s Alleged Intruder Charged with Burglary

ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Los Angeles County prosecutors Thursday charged a 56-year-old transient with first-degree burglary with a person present after he allegedly broke into the home of rapper-actor LL Cool J while he and his family were sleeping.

Jonathan A. Kirby was charged as a “third striker” in a felony complaint because of previous felony convictions in Los Angeles County, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. Prosecutors are asking for bail to be set at $1.1 million.

Kirby remains hospitalized with a broken nose, jaw and ribs after an intruder broke into the Sherman Oaks, Calif., home of LL Cool J, whose real name is James Todd Smith, at about 2 a.m. Wednesday and triggered an alarm.

No one else was hurt in the incident and nothing was stolen.

Smith, 44, heard noises while sleeping upstairs and went down to see what was happening, KABC reported. The famously fit star, who plays a special agent on NCIS Los Angeles, saw the intruder and quickly took him down.

Smith was able to hold down the intruder until authorities arrived.

“LL Cool J, and his family, are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern. As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter,” a representative for Smith said Wednesday.

Kirby’s arraignment will be announced later. If convicted, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 38 years to life in prison.

Under the moniker LL Cool J (an abbreviation for “Ladies Love Cool James”) Smith rose to fame as a rapper with hits including “Around the Way Girl”  and “Mama Said Knock You Out” in the 1980s and 1990s. He turned to acting in the 1990s and 2000s, appearing in films including Deep Blue Sea and S.W.A.T.

Smith took the role of Sam Hanna on the CBS show NCIS: Los Angeles in 2009.

Lindsay Lohan Won't Be Charged in Alleged Scuffle with Rehab Employee

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Lindsay Lohan will not face charges in connection with an alleged scuffle she had with an employee at the Betty Ford Center in December while she was receiving treatment there. The Riverside County District Attorney's office in California made the announcement Tuesday, citing insufficient evidence.

Lohan, 24, had been accused of fighting with Dawn Holland at the rehab facility. Holland was subsequently fired for discussing the incident with the media.

The Mean Girls star still has to deal with a felony grand theft case in which she's accused of stealing a 25 hundred-dollar necklace from a Venice, Calif., jewelry store in January. Lohan has pleaded not guilty in that case.

Report: Lindsay Lohan Could Be Charged with Felony Theft

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Lindsay Lohan continues to insist she did not steal a necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store last month. Even as TMZ.com claims the 24-year-old Mean Girls star will face a felony grand theft charge in connection with the incident in the near future, her attorney says Lindsay won't go down without a fight. Shawn Chapman Holley tells People magazine, "We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press."

Police had obtained a search warrant that allowed them to search Lindsay's home for the $2,500 necklace, but a stylist reportedly returned the item to police before the warrant was executed. Police last week turned over their findings in the investigation to Los Angeles prosecutors.
