(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- The first-ever CMA Country Christmas special airs Monday on ABC, and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles is serving as host.
It's her first time helming a TV broadcast, and she says the show reminds her of those great holiday specials she watched as a kid. "It's such a fond memory of being with your family and having something that feels like it only comes around once a year and that also gets you excited for the holiday."
Sugarland performs "Winter Wonderland" and "O Come O Come Emmanuel" on the show.
Reba is also on the special, singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," and several St. Nicks actually join her onstage for the performance. Reba says, "I was very glad they asked me to be a part of it. It looks great. The set's beautiful."
Darius Rucker makes an appearance to sing his holiday tune "Candy Cane Christmas." Since heavy hitters like Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow and Rascal Flatts are on the CMA Country Christmas special too, Darius says, "They got all the big boys, and they let me play too. So, that's pretty cool." He adds, "Everybody's doing these great Christmas songs."
Other acts featured on the special include Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler and LeAnn Rimes. CMA Country Christmas airs Monday night at 9:30 ET on ABC.
