(LOS ANGELES) – After Oscar nominations were announced Tuesday, ticket sales for multiple nominee The King’s Speech jumped 76 percent on Fandango compared to the same time last week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"The Academy Award nominations clearly gave the film a little Oscar bump," said Fandango editor Chuck Walton. "On Tuesday, this little movie moved up to the top slot as Fandango's top ticket-seller of the day, a nice feat considering the film opened more than eight weeks ago."
The King's Speech, which stars Colin Firth as King George VI of Britain, received 12 Oscar nominations, including one for best picture.
