Usher Looking to Settle Custody Battle After Stepson’s Accident?

Image credit: Anthony Mandler(ATLANTA) -- Word is that Usher wants to end the child custody battle over his two sons with his ex-wife Tameka Raymond and settle with her after the Jet Ski accident that reportedly left her 11-year-old son Kyle Glover brain dead.

TMZ reports that sources close to the former couple say that over the weekend Usher suggested that he and Tameka share 50-50 custody of their boys, and that he slightly increase his child support payments.

When Tameka declined, sources say that Usher tried again, telling his lawyers to come up with a new proposal that would give Tameka a greater share of custody. As part of the deal, Usher would also significantly beef up his child support offer, according to TMZ’s sources.

Usher backed out of his performance at the ESPYs on Wednesday night following Kyle’s accident over the weekend.

Sources tell TMZ that it’s possible that Usher’s changed his mind about the custody case because he’s aware of how much Tameka is suffering with Kyle in the hospital, and the singer doesn’t want to move forward with the legal battle under the circumstances.

TMZ cites sources saying the new custody deal hasn’t yet been presented to Tameka, but they say that she’s open to a “reasonable settlement.”

Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony Custody Battle Brewing?

MARK RALSTON/AFP/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- From Ashton and Demi, to Kim and Kris, and Arnold and Maria, it’s been a year of high-profile divorces in Hollywood, but the split between power couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony after seven years of marriage  seemed to be a relatively amicable one — at least where the children were concerned.

Now the claws just may be coming out, according to Us Weekly magazine. Rumors are swirling that the once amicable exes aren’t so friendly anymore and that they’re headed for a fierce custody battle.

“The original agreement when they split was that J.Lo would have primary custody of the kids, but since this has all come out, Marc is looking to have joint custody,” said Us Weekly magazine’s Rebecca Bienstock.

Anthony is reportedly furious over photos of Lopez and her new squeeze, backup dancer Casper Smart, frolicking seaside with the couple’s 3-year-old twins, Max and Emme, while on vacation in Hawaii over Thanksgiving.

“Sources close to Jennifer told us that Marc is not that interested in having joint custody of the kids,” Bienstock said. “He’s really just using them to get back at her because he’s so angry that she’s moved on.”

Since announcing their plans for divorce in July, the American Idol judge has been spotted with actor Bradley Cooper, and most recently, 24-year-old Smart. Anthony is reportedly “furious” that Casper, who has been arrested for drag racing, was driving their twins around, Bienstock explained.

Lopez and Anthony’s representatives have not responded to ABC News’ request for comment.

Mel Gibson to Give Ex-Girlfriend $750K

Michael Kovac/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have finally come to what looks like an amicable agreement.

ABC News has learned that the Hollywood actor/director has agreed to give Grigorieva, the mother of his nearly two-year-old daughter Lucia, $750,000 as part of their custody settlement. A California judge declared Wednesday that the couple will have joint legal and physical custody of Lucia.

At Wednesday’s court hearing, Gibson and Grigorieva also agreed that no books can be written by either party about the other party, even if the books are authored by a third party.

Gibson and Grigorieva’s relationship became the subject of scrutiny last year after recordings purportedly of Gibson berating Grigorieva and photos of a battered Grigorieva were published online. In March, Gibson pled no contest to charges of misdemeanor battery against his ex-girlfriend. Grigorieva also filed a domestic violence claim against the star, which was later dropped.

Charlie Sheen Considers 'Presidential Run' at D.C. Show

Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage(WASHINGTON) -- Charlie Sheen faced defeat on both coasts Tuesday.

Sheen started the day leaving Los Angeles family court after failing to win full custody of his twin sons, Bob and Max. Later that night, Sheen ended his day in Washington D.C., where he was greeted with walkouts and considered a "presidential" run.

The former Two and a Half Men star flew to the nation's capital to perform a show as of part of his Violent Torpedo of Truth: Defeat Is Not an Option tour.

While Sheen discussed the details of his personal drama, he also got political -- referring to a Huffington Post poll that showed him "beating" the president.

"For starters, I was [expletive] born here, how about that? And I got proof! Nothing photoshopped about my birth certificate," Sheen told the crowd.

Sheen said a presidential run is "something I'd have to consider because I don't know how a custody fight would work with half a [expletive] first family."

Halle Berry's Ex Fires Back in Custody War of Words

Photo Courtesy - WireImage/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Halle Berry's baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry, has responded to claims the Monster's Ball Oscar-winner has made about him regarding custody of their daughter, Nahla.

In a statement released to Access Hollywood Tuesday, the male model's rep says: "Gabriel is disappointed in Halle's decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes...The fact is that Gabriel is a caring father who shares custody of Nahla...He will always defend his rights as a father and will always consider Nahla's best interest."

Mel Gibson Makes Crucial Court Appearance

Photo Courtesy - FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Mel Gibson has seven kids with his ex-wife Robyn Gibson. But right now it seems his reputation as a father hangs in the balance thanks to the custody battle over child number eight: Lucia, the daughter that he had with his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

On Monday, Gibson makes an appearance in the family law area of Los Angeles County Superior Court to address custodial rights involving Lucia, now a little more than a year old. reported that Gibson will try "to wrestle custody from Oksana on grounds she is not acting in the best interests of Lucia. He's also asking the judge to deny Oksana overnight visits, and to grant her supervised visitation."

Grigorieva has alleged, according to, that last January, at his mansion in Malibu, Gibson "punched out two of her front teeth, leaving her bloodied, bruised and with a concussion." Gibson's team denies the allegations.
