Beyonce, Jay-Z Top "Forbes'" List of World's Highest-Paid Celeb Couples

Al Bello/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Beyonce and Jay-Z are movin' on up.  When Forbes released its list of the world's highest-paid celebrity couples last year, the hip-hop power couple was the runner-up for the top spot.  This year, they've climbed to number one.

The magazine points out that though Beyonce put the brakes on her whirlwind schedule in 2011 to welcome into the world her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, the mommy still raked in dough during her maternity leave.  According to Forbes, Beyonce pulled in large sums from her old hits, and that's on top of the money she's made from her platinum-selling album 4.

Between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012, Forbes reports that Beyonce earned $40 million, thanks in part to her non-musical ventures, including a fragrance collection.

As for Jay-Z, he made millions as part of The Throne, which sold out arenas on a global tour.  He stacked slightly less dough than his wife, with Jay earning $38 million between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012.  Some of his money came from non-musical enterprises, including cosmetics company Carol's Daughter and ad firm Translation, according to Forbes.

Together, Beyonce and Jay-Z collected an annual income of $78 million.

Second on Forbes' list is supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her quarterback-husband, Tom Brady.  Combined, the duo pulled in $72 million between May of 2011 and May of 2012, thanks to her modeling work, his NFL salary, and their respective endorsement deals.

David and Victoria Beckham rank third with $54 million, ahead of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who raked in $45 million, and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, who collected $40 million.

Beckham to Obama: Boxers or Briefs?

MANDEL NGAN/AFP/GettyImages(WASHINGTON) -- Boxers or briefs for the commander in chief? David Beckham knows the answer.

Soccer superstar David Beckham reportedly gifted the president 50 pairs of fitted boxer briefs from his own H&M line, making good on a promise to send Obama a, “big box of underwear” that the LA Galaxy star mentioned back in May.

The president and the British midfielder got buddy-buddy in May, when the LA Galaxy was invited to the White House after winning the Major League Soccer Cup. Obama ribbed Beckham for being both a soccer star and an underwear model.

“He is tough,” the president said of Beckham. “In fact, it is a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear. David Beckham is that man.”

After the good-natured jab, Beckham told EXTRA in an interview that he was going to send Obama, “a big box of underwear” as thanks for giving his products the presidential seal of approval. “To be in the White House was huge, I think, for myself. And to be given a little bit of a stick by the president was even bigger,” Beckham said.

Two months later, Beckham finally delivered on his promise -- a source close to Beckham indicated that Beckham did indeed mail the president a box of underwear. The package reportedly arrived at the White House over the weekend.

A representative for H&M could not be reached for comment on the details of the underwear shipment.

Beckham is a friend to the entire Obama family, it seems -- the soccer star will also be present at a Let’s Move! event hosted by the first lady at the American Embassy in London on Friday.

Obama Hosts David Beckham, LA Galaxy at the White House

MANDEL NGAN/AFP/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Congratulating the L.A. Galaxy on their Major League Soccer championship, President Obama had a little fun Tuesday at the expense of the team’s biggest star, David Beckham.

“He is tough. In fact, it is a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear,” the president said to laughter at a White House ceremony honoring the team. “David Beckham is that man.”

Obama jokingly referred to the world famous English soccer star as a “young up-and-comer” and ribbed him about his age. Beckham is 37 -- old for a soccer star.

“Half his teammates could be his kids,” the president quipped. “We’re getting old, David. Although you’re holding up better than me.”

The jokes didn’t stop with Beckham, however. The president also called out several of his teammates by name, including the captain, Landon Donovan, and Ireland’s Robbie Keane, whom the president called “a cousin of mine.” The president has roots in Ireland.

“Together they represent one of the most talented lineups that MLS has ever seen,” Obama concluded.

The Galaxy beat the Houston Dynamo 1-0 last November to take the Major League Soccer title.

The Los Angeles Galaxy soccer star flaunts his perfectly-toned physique, and underwear from his new David Beckham Bodywear collection, in the revealing ad.

“My design team and I spent 18 months developing the collection, it’s been a fantastic collaborative experience, and I’m very happy with the end result,” Beckham said in a press release. “Like every fan, I’m looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday.”

The underwear modeled by Beckham retails for $12.95 and $14.95 at H&M, and will hit stores in the U.S. on Feb. 2.

H&M gave fans a sneak peek at the 30-second ad on YouTube Monday ahead of its big debut during the second quarter of the Super Bowl this Sunday.

Other ads slated to run during Super Bowl XLVI feature other famous faces -- and bods -- wearing far more clothing, including a much-buzzed-about Honda spot with actor Matthew Broderick reprising the role of Ferris Bueller and a Pepsi ad with Elton John and X Factor winner Melanie Amaro.

Elton John Nominated for 'Celebrity Dad of the Year'

ABC/Ida Mae Astute(LONDON) -- Since Elton John became a father over Christmas, he's pretty much been everywhere talking about how much he loves his new son, Zachary.  Maybe that's why he's been nominated for Britain's "Celebrity Dad of the Year" award. The British paper The Independent reports that both Elton and his partner, David Furnish, are up for the award, the first gay couple to be so honored.

According to the organizers of the honor, the Celebrity Dad of the Year Award was created to "reward the celebrity dad who has impressed the nation by balancing a hectic public life with the demands of parenting."

Among Elton's competition is David Beckham -- ironic, since Elton is godfather to two of Beckham's sons.
