Busy Philipps Delivers Baby Girl

Photo by Steve Mack/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- It’s a girl, again, for Cougar Town star Busy Philipps.

The actress, already a mom to 4-year-old daughter Birdie Leigh, gave birth to her second daughter on July 2.

“So this happened …” Philipps, 34, tweeted Wednesday, along with a black-and-white photo of her holding the newborn.

Those were the same words that Philipps used to announce her pregnancy on Twitter in December, at that time posting a photo of her positive pregnancy test.

The former Dawson’s Creek star first revealed on the red carpet in April that she and husband Marc Silverstein were expecting another girl.

“We’ve known for a long time now. I just haven’t had any reason to say it, but we’re having another girl,” Philipps told the Huffington Post at the premiere of her film A Case of You.

The couple have not yet released a name for the new baby, who weighed in at 8.5 pounds.

At the same premiere in April where Philipps revealed the baby’s sex, she also revealed that the baby’s big sister, Birdie, was “super excited” about the news.

“She’s actually incredibly helpful and she’s 4 1/2, so she’s really understanding things. When I say, like,   ‘Mom can’t carry you right now because the baby in her tummy is pressing down on her bladder!’ She understands what that means and she’s cool with it,” the actress said.

“But we’ll see what happens when the actual baby comes,” Philipps added. “I’m planning for that moment, like, ‘And when does she go back?’ I know that will happen.”

Katie Holmes Open to ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion

George Pimentel/Getty Images for Creative Artists Agency(NEW YORK) -- Katie Holmes has come a long way from her days playing teen Joey Potter on the hit Dawson’s Creek, but the actress says she’s open to reprising the role in a reunion.

“It would be fun,” Holmes told ABC's Good Morning America. “I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories. A really great group of people.”

The actress was 20 when she landed the role as the ultimate girl next door on the series and went to Wilmington, N.C., to work with James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams, who were then all relative unknowns. The series lasted for six seasons, became a cult favorite and catapulted the entire cast to fame. Rumors of a Dawson’s Creek reunion have swirled online on fan sites for years.

Now Holmes, 32, is a bona fide movie star, a mom and married to one of Hollywood’s biggest superstars, Tom Cruise. The actress revealed she wouldn’t shy away from teaming up with her famous husband on-screen.

“If it’s the right thing, why not? He’s amazing,” she said.

Holmes, whose latest role is alongside funnyman Adam Sandler in the new comedy Jack and Jill, said she’s ready for the new phase of her career.

“I just feel like I’m now ready for parts that maybe I wasn’t ready for in my twenties. There’s a lot that I want to do. I have a lot in development,” she said. “It’s an exciting time.”
