Pia Toscano Starting Work on Debut Album Next Week?

Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- After Pia Toscano was ejected from American Idol, there were rumors that she'd signed a record deal just days later.  She denied it, but even if she doesn't have a record deal, that doesn't mean she can't record an album.

Sources told E! Online that Pia will start working on her debut CD as early as next week, and her plan is to record some singles that she can release as soon as American Idol wraps up later this month.

When asked if there was any truth to the report, both Fox and 19 Entertainment, the company that produces American Idol and manages many of the show's alumni, told ABC News Radio that they had no comment.

Oscar-Winner Jeff Bridges to Release Debut Album This Summer

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- He's got an Oscar, but now Jeff Bridges is going for a Grammy.

The legendary actor, who won an Academy Award for playing a washed-up country singer in the movie Crazy Heart, will release his debut album in late summer.  The disc is being produced by Grammy-winning producer T Bone Burnett, who has known Bridges for 30 years.  He collaborated with the actor on the Crazy Heart soundtrack, and also worked on the soundtrack of his cult classic The Big Lebowski.

Burnett's production resume includes work with Elton John, Gregg Allman, Robert Plant, Roy Orbison, John Mellencamp, Tony Bennett and many other stars.

Bridges' album will include his own compositions, as well as material written by established songwriters.  To kick off his career as a recording artist, he'll appear on the cover of Esquire magazine's music issue, which hits newsstands April 26.

As for whether or not Bridges will hit the road to promote the disc, he says, "You never know.  We'll see.  I'll get out and play...[but] I don't know how long [a tour] would be.  But I'd love to get out's fun to play with guys on the road."
