Lindsay Lohan Says Mom Wasn't on Cocaine During Spat

Stefania D'Alessandro/Getty Images for amfAR(LOS ANGELES) -- An emotional Lindsay Lohan herself called into TMZ on Thursday to settle who and what was behind the much-hyped fight she had with her mom early Wednesday morning during a limo ride to Dina Lohan's Long Island, N.Y., home.

Lindsay told the gossip site's Harvey Levin that she telephoned her father Michael Lohan in the middle of the fight -- and it was her own dad who sold the recorded call to the media.

"Who would do that to his own daughter?" she asked.  "He doesn't know what it means to be a father."

Lindsay not only claimed her father was behind the tape, but claimed it had been edited to hurt her mom.

While the actress accused Dina Lohan of being on cocaine during the fight, she admitted to TMZ, "I told him a very hurtful, untruthful lie about my mother...my mom does not do cocaine."

The troubled actress told Levin, "I think everyone kind of knows that my father's main objective has always been...to gain all he can from my name," adding that his "hunger for fame" is embarrassing.

Lindsay denied she was hurt in the spat with her mom -- as was claimed -- and accused her dad of calling the cops after the fight.

"Daughters have fights with their moms.  It happens a lot.  It's normal," she insisted.

Lindsay Lohan, Mom Hug After Early Morning Dispute

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- False alarm: apparently, Lindsay Lohan and her mom are OK. The 26-year-old actress was spotted hugging her mother Wednesday outside her childhood home following a dispute late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning in which police were called.

Nassau County police officers were called to the Merrick, N.Y., home where Lohan grew up Wednesday morning. Her mother, Dina Lohan, lives in the house with some of Lindsay’s siblings. An investigation revealed “no criminality.” Police did not release details on the subject of the argument.

Lohan’s publicist declined ABC News requests for comment. Messages left with Dina Lohan were not answered.

According to TMZ.com, the argument started around 4 a.m. at New York City’s Dream Downtown, the hotel where Lohan was accused of a hit-and-run last month. TMZ said Lohan wanted to “take her limo to her New York City hotel, but Dina wanted to take it to her home in Long Island, to avoid paying for a taxi.”

According to TMZ, during the tussle, Lindsay Lohan called her dad for help and said “She’s saying disgusting things to me.”

Dina Lohan recently made headlines with an incoherent appearance on Dr. Phil. Her daughter has defended her since that interview, calling her “amazing, beautiful, talented” and “so strong” on Twitter.

Lindsay Lohan was last involved in an NYPD investigation two weeks ago, when she claimed a man had assaulted her at the W Hotel in Union Square. Charges against the man were later dropped.

Report: Lindsay Lohan’s Mom Shopping Tell-All Memoir

Peter Kramer/NBC(LOS ANGELES) -- A purported draft of a memoir by Dina Lohan, in which she apparently reveals information about her daughter Lindsay’s alleged alcohol and drug abuse, has been obtained by TMZ.

According to the website, Dina writes, “I blame her friends, her career and her handlers for an (sic) newfound lifestyle of partying excessively.  Drinking, drugging and behaving irresponsibly became Lindsay’s way of daily living -- and it tore me up inside.”

The mother of the Mean Girls star also explains why she moved her daughter from New York to L.A. when she was very young, writing, "How could I deny my daughter the chance of a lifetime?  How could I hold Lindsay back from her dream of becoming an actress?  So, I listened to others and sent my daughter to Hollywood with a few pieces of luggage and a chaperone.”

TMZ reports Dina is in the process of shopping her memoir to publishers but has no takers, so far.

A rep for the Lohan family has issued a statement, appearing to contradict the TMZ story saying, "Dina has not written a book yet and has not signed with a publisher."

TMZ insists it has seen Dina Lohan's prologue, saying it is being used as a "taster" for literary agents.

Lindsay Lohan Photographed Kissing Hotelier, Mother in NYC

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Lindsay Lohan has had busy lips in the past week.

A photograph circulating on the Internet shows a woman -- apparently Lohan -- kissing a 39-year-old hotelier named Vikram Chatwal in New York.  E! News further reports they also partied one night at his apartment in the Big Apple.

Her rep says he cannot confirm that Lohan is the woman in the picture, but he claims to E! News that the Mean Girls star and the hotelier are "very good friends and nothing more than that."

Lohan's kissing escapades in New York didn't end there.  She was recently photographed giving her mother, Dina, an apparent open-mouth kiss during a birthday celebration for Dina at a New York City restaurant.

Lohan's rep reacted to that report by telling E! News, "My comment is that we're not responding to the disgusting insinuations being made."

Lindsay Lohan Looking to Lose 'Lohan' From Name

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- It seems like even Lindsay Lohan has had enough of Lindsay Lohan.

The embattled Mean Girls star reportedly wants to drop the Lohan from her name, reports PopEater.com.  The actress' mother, Dina Lohan, tells the website, "Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay.  Plus, me and [younger daughter] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan."

A friend of the family said, "So many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by just their first name.  Look at Oprah and Beyonce.  Now you can add Lindsay to that list.  And it's a way for them all to start over.  No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, anymore and that includes sharing a last name."

Lindsay Lohan's Mom: Lindsay Faces 'Lifelong Struggle'

Photo Courtesy - AL SEIB/AFP/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Despite her most recent stint in rehab, starlet Lindsay Lohan still faces "a lifelong struggle with addiction," said her mother, Dina Lohan.

"I believe [that Lindsay doesn't drink anymore], and I think it's gonna be a lifelong struggle with addiction. But I think she's gonna be okay," Dina Lohan told ABC News in a 20/20 interview set to air Friday at 10 p.m. ET.

She was once the most promising child star in America, but at just 24 years old, Lindsay has become the poster child for Hollywood vice, known more for mug shots than movies.

Most recently, the tabloid microscope zoomed in on a jewelry store in Los Angeles, where security cameras captured Lindsay walking out with an expensive necklace on Jan. 22.

Now, Lindsay Lohan faces charges of felony grand theft. But she and Dina both insist it's all a simple misunderstanding.

Dina Lohan said she could "absolutely not" imagine her daughter being a thief.

"I never thought it would be this -- the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level," said Dina Lohan. "It's been really hard on my family, harder than anything."

Just two months ago, Lindsay completed her fifth stint in rehab. Her time at the Betty Ford Center was scarred by an alleged violent argument with a staffer that Dina says was blown out of proportion. Dina Lohan says Lindsay has now emerged, finally, as a woman on the mend.
