"Jersey Shore" Star Pauly D Hopes The Situation Gets Well

Ethan Miller/Getty Images(BURBANK, Calif.) -- On Monday's installment of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jersey Shore star Pauly "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio talked about his new MTV show The Pauly D Project and the major changes facing two of his Jersey Shore cast mates -- Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who is pregnant, and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who's currently in rehab for prescription pill addiction.

Regarding Snooki, Pauly admitted he was "shocked" to hear she was with child, something Leno said he found puzzling considering how much sex she apparently has on the show.  And although he hasn't been an onscreen fan for most of Sitch's antics the last two seasons, Pauly told Leno he wishes Sitch the best.

While recent reports said Sorrentino's drinking had become a serious situation for the show's producers, Pauly insisted Mike, "drinks a little bit, he's like a casual drinker."

RadarOnline is reporting that it was addiction to "unbelievable amounts" of prescription drugs -- including Xanax, Dilaudid, and Ambien -- that led to Sitch seeking help.

"Mike was taking about 20-30 pills a day, which easily could have killed him," a source tells the gossip site.  "Mike is very lucky that he didn't overdose and die, because the amount of prescription drugs was that high and deadly."

Ultimately, Pauly said of Sitch, "...I hope he gets well, because I wanna film season six with him because he's my boy."

The Pauly D Project -- about the reality star's exploding DJ career -- airs Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time on MTV.

MTV Spinning Off Snooki and Two 'Jersey Shore' Pals

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- For Jersey Shore fans bummed that the fourth season is temporarily on hold due to cast contract negotiations, help is on the way.

MTV has given the green light to two spin-off series, one starring Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and another centering on Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio.  All three Jersey Shore cast members shot pilots for their prospective shows after the cameras finished rolling on season three, and now both shows have been given full season orders of 12 episodes each.

Both shows have yet to get titles, but according to a press release, the Snooki/JWoww show will let fans "see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over," while Pauly's reality show centers on his regular job: cameras will follow his "jet-setting and often hilarious life on the road as one of the country's most in-demand DJs."

Spears Treats Vegas Crowd to Surprise Performances

Jive Records (LAS VEGAS) -- Hours after leaking her intentions on Twitter, Britney Spears treated the crowd at Rain Nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas to a pair of suprise performances Friday night.

The 29-year-old took to the stage as part of an MTV special being filmed on the pop star.

Spears' appearance came just days before the release of her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, on March 29. The Jive Records recording artist performed several songs from her new album, including singles, "Hold it Against Me," "Till the World Ends," and "Big Fat Bass."

It was the second time Spears has surprised the crowd at Rain Nightclub, having performed unannounced at the venue in 2003.

Before Spears took to the stage, DJ Pauly D of MTV's Jersey Shore kicked off the night with a DJ set at the nightclub.
