(LOS ANGELES) -- Donald Sutherland received the 2,430th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday.
His star is located next to the one belonging to his son, Kiefer Sutherland, who was unable to attend the ceremony.
The 75-year-old star of The Dirty Dozen, Klute and M*A*S*H was thrilled with the recognition, saying "What you're doing at my age is you're looking for your marker, and why I am so filled with happiness and joy is because you guys have given me my marker."
Colin Farrell, who co-stars with Sutherland in the upcoming comedy Horrible Bosses, also spoke at the ceremony.
Fans will be able to see Sutherland on the big screen this weekend when The Mechanic debuts in theaters.
