Whitney Houston Checks Into Rehab

ABC News(LOS ANGELES) -- Whitney Houston is in rehab, a rep for the star confirmed to ABC News Radio on Monday.

A spokesperson for Houston says she is in an outpatient program for drug and alcohol treatment, and that she entered the program voluntarily, as part of what the rep called Houston's "long-standing" recovery process.

Houston has admitted to substance abuse in the past.  Last year, after she received some poor reviews for a number of live performances there were rumors that she was once again battling addiction, but those reports were never confirmed.

Thursday night, Houston and Chaka Khan were special guests at Prince's concert at the L.A. Forum -- they sang Chaka's hit with Rufus, "Tell Me Something Good."

Paris Hilton Pleads Guilty In Las Vegas Drug Arrest

ABC NewsAfter being arrested for cocaine possession last month at a Las Vegas hotel-casino, hotel heiress Paris Hilton, 29, plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges.  Hilton originally faced a felony cocaine possession charge that would have resulted in jail time.  After a plea deal, which Clark County Prosecutor  called, "a fair resolution," charges were reduced and Hilton must now complete a drug rehabilitation program, pay a $2000 fine, and serve 200 hours of community service.  Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure reminded Hilton, "The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria"  and encouraged a change in conduct.  Hilton faces a year in jail if she violates probation and is arrested for anything other than a minor traffic violation.
