NYC's Ed Sullivan Theater Vandalized Again

Patti McConville/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- For the second time in less than a week, someone has vandalized New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater, where David Letterman tapes his late-night show.

According to the New York Daily News, 42-year-old Alvin Moore allegedly threw a newspaper box through the theater's entrance early Thursday. A security guard later struck Moore in the head with a golf club.

Moore, who suffered a head wound, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and menacing.

A 22-year-old man, James Whittemore, broke into the theater last weekend and is facing charges of burglary and criminal mischief. He claims he was intoxicated and doesn't remember the incident.

Man Who Broke Into NYC's Sullivan Theater Says He Can't Remember Incident

Patti McConville/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The 22-year-old man accused of trashing the home of David Letterman's CBS late-night show, New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater, over the weekend, was arraigned on Monday.

According to the New York Post, James Whittemore did not enter a plea to charges of burglary and criminal mischief. His attorney says Whittemore was "highly intoxicated" at the time of the incident and doesn't remember what happened.

Prosecutors say Whittemore is seen on surveillance video urinating on glass doors and damaging other property in the lobby and box office area.

Man Breaks Into NYC's Ed Sullivan Theater, Home of 'Late Show'

Patti McConville/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- A 22-year-old man was arrested after he entered New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater, where David Letterman tapes his CBS late-night program, and caused damage to the venue early Sunday.

The New York Daily News reports James Whittemore allegedly shattered the theater's front doors and trashed the lobby and box office area.

Whittemore, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, has been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Letterman is expected to tape his show on Monday as scheduled despite the incident.
