Lindsay Lohan's "Liz and Dick" to Premiere November 25

Richard McLaren/Lifetime(LOS ANGELES) -- The highly anticipated TV movie, Liz and Dick, which has been described as troubled actress' Lindsay Lohan's comeback film, will premiere on Lifetime November 25, the cable channel announced Monday.

The Mean Girls actress portrays Elizabeth Taylor opposite Grant Bowler, who plays Richard Burton. The Lifetime original movie centers on the famous couple's torrid love affair.

“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well," Lohan said back in April on her role. "I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

News of Lohan portraying the iconic movie star came after her successful completion of court-mandated community service and therapy sessions, following a 2007 DUI case in Beverly Hills. Still, Lohan remains on informal probation for a 2011 shoplifting conviction; and has been plagued with bad press due to an alleged hit-and-run in New York City and a recent scuffle with a congressional aide regarding cell phone photos.

Elizabeth Taylor's Trailer Damaged on "Liz & Dick" Set

Richard McLaren/Lifetime(LOS ANGELES) -- Even when she's at work, Lindsay Lohan can't escape controversy.  A trailer on the set of her Lifetime movie Liz & Dick has suffered major damage, and its owner, who spoke to CNN, isn't happy about it.

What makes the trailer so significant is that it was once used by Elizabeth Taylor, the legendary actress whom Lohan is portraying in the TV film.  The trailer was given to Taylor while she was making her movie Cleopatra, co-starring her future husband -- and ex-husband -- Richard Burton.

It was purchased by an Elizabeth Taylor fan, Angel Alger, for $50,000 in June, but the terms of the sale required her to let the Liz & Dick crew use it for a week.

Alger tells CNN that the trailer suffered what she estimates to be at least $100,000 worth of damage during production, including cigarette burns on furniture and shattered glass.  She also says a rocking chair that Taylor frequently sat on was stolen.

Alger says, "Only a psychotic and rebellious person or people would steal irreplaceable museum belongings and leave it in this vandalized condition."

She believes Lohan may be responsible, because a studio employee told her the actress and her friends had access to the trailer on a nightly basis.  Lohan's rep denies Lohan damaged the trailer, telling CNN, "This has nothing to do with Lindsay."

Lohan's Lifetime movie premieres on Nov. 3.  New pictures of Lohan as Taylor were released this week.

Lifetime has released a black-and-white photo of both actors in their respective roles.  Bowler is seen kissing the neck of a glamorous-looking Lohan.

TMZ.com previously posted a photo of Lohan in a dress holding a cigarette as she does her best Taylor imitation.  The website reports Lohan has cut her hair a few inches and dyed it brown in order to replicate Taylor's look.

Lindsay Lohan: Rosie O'Donnell's Criticism of Me Was 'Intrusive'

Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Lindsay Lohan is brushing off Rosie O'Donnell's criticism of her, saying she's confident in her ability to portray Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime movie.

On Tuesday's edition of NBC's Today show, O'Donnell said she didn't think Lohan is "right for the role" or "capable at this point of doing what's needed."

Lohan, noting that one of her first interviews as an actress was with O'Donnell, tells Access Hollywood, "It’s funny that someone you don’t know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing."

When asked if her opinion of O'Donnell has changed, Lohan replied, "She should base her opinions when she meets someone."

Despite O'Donnell's assessment of Lohan's career at the moment, the Mean Girls star says she knows she's "great" and that she feels lucky to be able to play Taylor in Liz & Dick, a story about Taylor's romance with Richard Burton.

When Access Hollywood suggested to Lohan that Gerard Butler should co-star as Burton, she answered, "I don’t know if he would do that.  But he actually does resemble him a lot."

Rosie O'Donnell: Lindsay Lohan Not 'Capable' to Portray Elizabeth Taylor

Taylor Hill/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Rosie O'Donnell is not pleased that Lindsay Lohan will be taking on the role of Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's upcoming original movie.

During a panel discussion on Tuesday's Today show, O'Donnell told Matt Lauer, "I don't think she's right for the role and I don't think she's capable at this point to portray that character."

O'Donnell also dismissed Lohan's performance as guest host of Saturday Night Live last month, saying, "It wasn’t as though she delivered."

She added, "People watched expecting, hoping, wishing, but she needs a lot of help."

Lohan's rep didn't take too kindly to O'Donnell's comments.

He said in a statement, "I think Rosie should be focused on her own career right now and not everyone else's.  It's a shame someone has to launch into such a mean-spirited attack on another person in order to get publicity for themselves."
