Russell Brand on Marriage: 'I Tried It and I Loved It'

Photo by Tommaso Boddi/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Russell Brand says he still hopes to be married one day -– just not today.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, the actor says, "I'd like to be married. I'm just not transmitting that frequency of 'Soulmate! Soulmate!' I’m transmitting the frequency of 'Mmm!'"

Referring to his nearly two-year marriage to Katy Perry, Brand says, "I tried it and I loved it."

Brand says their divorce had nothing to do with her character. "I really think she's a lovely, beautiful person...It's just hard isn't it? She's got a lot of options, I’ve got a lot of options, so you've got to really, really want it."

As for what triggered their split, Brand admitted it was partly due to adjusting to a different pace of life then they were used to and prioritizing their respective lives and careers.  "Some of it's the fame, but I think getting married is…you've got a whole other person that you’ve got to make as important as you."

Rihanna Named Sexiest Woman Alive

Franck Prevel/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- It may be hard to deny that Rihanna’s sexy.  To Esquire magazine, though, she’s not just sexy — she’s the Sexiest Woman Alive for 2011.

The magazine bestowed the title on Rihanna on Tuesday, but according to the singer herself, she’s not so sure it applies. “At the end of a concert,  I don’t feel I’ve been this sexy thing.  Really, I don’t even think about it,” she tells Esquire.  “Unless it’s for a song that really calls for it, like ‘Skin’ or ‘S&M’ or when I cover [Prince's] ‘Darling Nikki.’”

Rihanna says there’s a specific sequence in her concert called “Sex,” and, she says, “that’s the only part that’s deliberate.”  Speaking about her concerts as a whole, she adds, “Honestly, even if it comes across sexual…it’s never deliberate in the rest of the show…I could see ‘What’s My Name?’ — the dancing is pretty sexy.  ‘Rude Boy.’  But I don’t know. I guess people find different things sexy.”

In her interview with Esquire, Rihanna also discusses her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.  “It’s incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did,” she says of the bad publicity that came in the wake of the incident in which he assaulted her.  “Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?  I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan.”

Rihanna says she’s put any “resentment” she had toward Chris behind her.  “It was taking up too much of my time. It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”

Kid Rock Admits His Stage Name Is the 'Worst in the World'

Atlantic Records(NEW YORK) -- Kid Rock chose his stage name when he was a teenager, but now that he's all grown up, the man born Robert Ritchie realizes it's a bit silly.

In the May issue of Esquire magazine, Kid says his stage name is "the worst name in the world," and adds, "The only person who had a dumber name than me was the Fresh Prince. Hey, it sounded like a cool rap name when I was 16. But it stuck, and now it's me. I'll be an 88-year-old man, [saying] 'Call me the Kid.'"

Kid also addresses his reputation as a wild man, pointing out that unlike some Hollywood bad boys, he doesn't need to pay for female companionship.  He tells the mag, "I don't do hookers, man.  I'm in a rock band."

Matthew McConaughey Loves His Babies' Mama

Mark Sullivan/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Sorry, ladies.  Matthew McConaughey only has eyes for one woman.  The actor, currently starring on the big screen in The Lincoln Lawyer, tells Esquire he wants to spend forever with his partner, Camila Alves, the mother of his two children.  McConaughey said, "I found the woman I wanna do it with, the woman I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together." He added, "She needs to have 50 percent of that.  I mean, it's a lot easier for me to be at 100 percent.  I'd always been 100 percent.  It's braver for me at 50 percent."

McConaughey also said there's more to him than the laid-back dude he's often portrayed as in the media, noting, "Do I think the image of me is a true picture of who I am?  No, it's incomplete.  Am I a fun-loving guy, man?  Who likes running around in the summer with his shirt off, man?  Am I a guy who likes to hang out with his friends, and party and go to concerts and football games with his friends?  Well, yeah!  Yes, I am.  Always have been.  Always hopefully will be.  You know?"
