(LOS ANGELES) -- After being charged with driving under the influence, hit-and-run, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer following an arrest last month, Estella Warren’s lawyer tells People magazine that the actress has entered a residential treatment facility and is wearing an alcohol-detecting bracelet. According to the Planet of the Apes star’s attorney, “She wants to prove she isn’t drinking. She’s committed to making the situation right and moving on in a way that’s appropriate.”
Warren’s run-in with police began after she crashed her Toyota Prius into three vehicles in Los Angeles on May 23. After striking the vehicles, police attempted to stop and arrest Warren, who became very belligerent and reportedly hit an officer. Once in custody, the actress was allegedly able to slip off her handcuffs and attempted to flee the police station before being caught. Warren could spend up to six months in jail for the four misdemeanor charges.
