Eva Longoria, Mark Sanchez Split

ABC/RON TOM(NEW YORK) -- After only a few months of dating, Mark Sanchez and Eva Longoria have officially split, the NFL star’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly.

“Mark adores and respects Eva,” Sanchez’s rep said. “It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends.”

The Desperate Housewives star confirmed her relationship status with the New York Jets’ quarterback last month, telling Extra, “We’re happy just dating.”

Longoria has been keeping herself busy lately with Obama’s reelection campaign. She recently starred in a political ad alongside fellow actresses Scarlet Johansson and Kerry Washington urging women to vote for the president instead of Mitt Romney. The 37-year-old also spoke at the Democratic National Convention earlier this fall.

As for Sanchez, 25, he is in the middle of the NFL season, most recently taking a 29-26 loss against the New England Patriots. Sanchez fumbled on the last play of the overtime game.

Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria Urge Women to Vote for Obama

ABC/Donna Svennevik(NEW YORK) -- Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington want to talk to you about women and Mitt Romney.

In a new political ad by MoveOn.org Political Action, the three actresses speak about Romney’s stance on women’s health issues, including Planned Parenthood funding and abortion. They also encourage women to vote for Obama.

“If you think that this election won’t affect you and your life, think again,” Johansson says in the video.

Longoria and Johansson have been active in Obama’s campaign. Desperate Housewives star Longoria is co-chairwoman of the president’s re-election campaign and both women made speeches at the Democratic National Convention last month.

Shortly after the MoveOn.org ad was uploaded to YouTube Monday, Romney’s team released an ad about women’s health issues as well.

“You know, those ads say Mitt Romney would ban all abortions and contraception seemed a bit extreme, so I looked into it,” a woman identified as Sarah Minto says in the video. "It turns out Romney doesn’t oppose contraception at all. In fact, he thinks abortion should be an option in cases of rape, incest or to save a mother’s life.”

Eva Longoria Prepping Steakhouse for the Ladies

ABC/RON TOM(LOS ANGELES) -- Do women feel self-conscious ordering steak at restaurants?  Former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria believes they do so much so that she's reportedly opening a female-oriented steak joint.

Longoria's new venture will replace Beso, the Las Vegas restaurant the actress and cookbook author co-owned, which was recently shuttered.

According to the foodie blog Eater Vegas, the new eatery will be called She and will feature a roaring '20s theme, with chef Todd Mark Miller whipping up "boutique steakhouse dishes and small bites appealing to ladies."

And despite its name and women-friendly feel, She, which is slated for a New Year's Eve opening, will be open to meat lovers of all genders.

Colorado Shooting Casts Pall on Potato Chip Campaign

ABC/RON TOM(NEW YORK) -- Eva Longoria, the former Desperate Housewives star, said Friday it was difficult to focus on her latest business endeavor after hearing about the Colorado theater shooting early this morning.

“It was so overwhelming. Like the doctor said, you don’t have to be there to have been affected by it,” Longoria said during an appearance Friday on Good Afternoon America.

Originally scheduled to discuss her teaming up with Lay’s Potato Chips on the “Do Us a Flavor” campaign, Longoria, 37, couldn’t help but veer off topic to address the shooting at The Dark Knight Rises premiere.

"We woke up this morning going, ‘What? What happened? What did I miss?’" she said.

“We were launching this campaign today, and it was like, yay, we’re here to say, ‘Win a million dollars,’ and then this happens and you go, ‘That’s how fragile life is in these moments,’” Longoria said.

She has teamed up with Lay’s Potato Chips to find the next great potato chip flavor, and said this is the company’s way of giving back to the consumers.

“Lay’s is really giving back to the consumers by launching this campaign, ‘Do Us a Flavor.’ They’re letting consumers pick the next great flavor of the next potato chip. This is the first time they’re going to do it in the United States. And the winner gets one million dollars,” she explained.

You can go to Facebook.com/Lays to submit as many ideas as you’d like.

Longoria also mentioned how social media is an effective way to stay informed about how to help the victims in Aurora, Colo.

“I was just reading on Twitter ways you can help. They need blood donors. They have so many people in the hospitals. They need certain types of blood,” she said. “The community needs support. You don’t have to be in Colorado to help. Social media is a great way to realize how you can help.”

She also took a moment to answer questions from the GAA audience. One woman asked, “How do you stay in such great shape?”

Longoria replied, laughing, “Eating potato chips.”

According to TMZ sources, Longoria was leaving a beauty salon when she pulled her BMW into traffic and bumped into the car in front of her.
