(BURBANK, Calif.) -- Before Katy Perry became famous, she went by the name Katy Hudson. But she's about to change her name again -- to Katy Brand.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, Perry told DeGeneres now that she's married to comedian and actor Russell Brand, she'll answer to "Mrs. Brand" if someone calls her that, and revealed that she's "in the process" of changing her name legally to Katy Brand. It's not known if she'll use that name professionally, though.
Meanwhile, Perry has made chart history with her latest single, "Firework." It's reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first female artist in 11 years to score three Hot 100 number one hits from a single album.
Perry's Grammy-nominated disc Teenage Dream first produced the number one hit "California Gurls," followed by "Teenage Dream" and now, "Firework." The last female artist to accomplish that was Monica, with her album The Boy Is Mine.
