(NEW YORK) -- If Kelly Carlin had her way, New York City would rename a Manhattan street in honor of her late father, iconic comedian George Carlin. She and comedian Kevin Bartini have a petition at Change.org that lobbies the city to rename the 500 block of Manhattan's West 121st Street -- the same street on which Carlin grew up and went to school -- "George Carlin Way."
Kelly Carlin says she wants future generations to know her father's work and how much he loved the city.
"I feel it's very important to protect his legacy and keep the torch lit and to keep the conversation going the next 40 years and I'm very proud and honored to do it," she told ABC News Radio.
Carlin died in 2008 at the age of 71.
