(LOS ANGELES) -- Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is protective of his brand. Case in point: he's suing a website for using his catchphrase "GTL" -- for those of you who don't watch Jersey Shore, it stands for "gym, tan, laundry" -- to peddle energy shots and other products, according to TMZ.com.
He'd previously sent MyGTLFuel.com a cease-and-desist letter. The owner of the website argues to TMZ that "The Situation's" case is without merit because he's yet to obtain a trademark for "GTL."
Last month, TMZ.com reported that "The Situation's" lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch, ordering it to stop selling T-shirts that parody Jersey Shore with phrases such as "The Fitchuation." The letter followed Abercrombie & Fitch's well-publicized offer to pay "The Situation" to not wear its clothes.
