Bill Cosby's Cliff Huxtable Named Top TV Dad

Viacom Enterprises/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Many Americans wished they had a famous doctor in the house when they were a child. In advance of Father's Day, Harris Interactive asked nearly 22 hundred adults which TV dad they would've wanted as a father growing up. Bill Cosby's character in The Cosby Show, Dr. Cliff Huxtable, ranks first, followed by Leave It to Beaver's Ward Cleaver and Father Knows Best's Jim Anderson.

Huxtable was the most popular choice regardless of gender, race or political party affiliation. He also ranked first among all age groups except for the 66-and-over crowd -- they selected Jim Anderson.
