Heather Locklear Not Going to Rehab

John Shearer/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- When Heather Locklear was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 12 after mixing alcohol and Xanax, many speculated whether the Melrose Place actress would return to rehab for a third time. But according to a source close the family, that is not the plan.

Instead, the 50-year-old actress has resumed the ongoing sobriety program she began and maintained in 2011 until the difficult split with her fiancé, actor Jack Wagner. Locklear will work with doctors who will monitor her progress, and she will continue to be tested monthly for drugs and alcohol. The family is also receiving support from UCLA to help with the anxiety caused by the breakup.

According to the source, Locklear had not had a drink for months. But her split with fiancé Jack Wagner in November and receiving numerous bottles of wine as gifts for Christmas led her to fall off the wagon. At the time of her hospitalization, Heather was “menopausal, depressed and dealing with a great deal of anxiety of a recent breakup,” said the source. “When her sister suspected something was wrong, she didn’t mess around and called 911.”

Though she was the one who called off the three-month engagement to Wagner, she was still struggling with it in January.  According to our source, Locklear, who has been married twice before, decided she didn’t want to walk down the aisle again. But Wagner did, which caused big disagreements between the couple until she finally ended it.

Locklear’s previous issues with depression and substance abuse and her family’s history of alcoholism led her to voluntarily turn to experts at UCLA for support. She’s reportedly back to her daily 90-minute workout routines and also doing therapy to address the breakup and anxiety associated with it.

Heather Locklear Could Be Charged with Battery: Report

John Shearer/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Heather Locklear’s problems are piling up. Fresh out of the hospital after reportedly overdosing last week, the former “Melrose Place” actress has a new battle to contend with: appearing before the Los Angeles city attorney to determine if she’ll be charged for criminal battery for a fight with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Jack Wagner.

TMZ reports that the LAPD investigated a physical fight that the pair had in late December at Wagner’s San Fernando Valley home. According to TMZ, when cops arrived, no one wanted to press charges but the issue was sent to the city attorney for review. Now they have to appear in front of prosecutors to determine whether charges should be filed.

Reps for Locklear and Wagner did not immediately respond to ABC News’ requests for comment. The LAPD declined to comment.

Heather Locklear to Go Back to Rehab?

John Shearer/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Is Heather Locklear bound for rehab again? TMZ is reporting that while Locklear is out of the hospital, her family wants her to go back to the UCLA Medical Center after being hospitalized last week for consuming a mixture of drugs and alcohol.

It wouldn’t be her first time in rehab -- in March 2008, a doctor for the Melrose Place actress called 911 reporting that she was suicidal. She later went to Arizona for a month seeking treatment for anxiety and depression.

Meanwhile, TMZ released the 911 call that landed Locklear in the hospital on Jan. 12. Almost everything in the recording is redacted because of patient confidentiality, but TMZ cites law enforcement sources who say that in the call, Lockler’s sister describes the 50-year-old actress having intense stomach pains and being in severe distress. Entertainment Tonight quoted a source saying Locklear was “out of control” when her sister made the call.

Locklear’s rep did not immediately respond to ABC News’ requests for comment.

Heather Locklear 'Medically Stable' After Being Hospitalized

Michael Buckner/Getty Images for Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.) -- Heather Locklear's parents say their daughter is "medically stable" at a hospital in Thousand Oaks, Calif., People magazine reports.

Bill and Diane Locklear said in a statement released by Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center that Heather "is in no danger and she's going to be just fine."

Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ that the former Melrose Place star was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after ingesting a suspected dangerous mix of alcohol and prescription drugs.

TMZ reports Locklear’s sister Colleen dialed 911 out of fear the actress was in danger. A source tells RadarOnline that Colleen was worried about Heather’s state of mind. The source says Colleen “was afraid Heather was going to harm herself because of her drinking mixed with medication.”

Paramedics arrived and determined that Heather needed to be hospitalized. A hospital spokesperson later told TMZ that the actress was awake and responsive when she arrived at the facility.

Locklear recently called off her engagement to Jack Wagner. Sources tell RadarOnline, “She is distraught over her relationship with Jack.  It is on and off and it has upset her lately.”

TMZ reports this isn't the first time 911 has been called over concern Locklear had abused prescription drugs.  In 2008, her doctor dialed 911 worried that she may have overdosed on her meds.  The 911 operator described the incident as a "suicide attempt," but it reportedly turned out to be a false alarm.
