QVC Guest Host Cassie Slane Faints on Live TV

QVC / YouTube(NEW YORK) -- QVC host Dan Hughes proved Sunday night that no matter what happens on live television, you should just keep on selling.

Shortly after guest host Cassie Slane came on QVC to promote a kid-friendly tablet Sunday, she began patting her chest and appeared to stop breathing, a YouTube video shows. As Slane appeared to pass out into host Hughes’ arms, QVC cut to a full-screen shot of the product and Hughes kept talking, making no mention of Slane’s distress.

It is unclear what exactly happened to her, but Slane, a mother of three, posted on her Facebook page Monday, "I am feeling alot better today!”

“Our on-air guest Cassie had a brief fainting spell. We are pleased to report that she is feeling fine now,” QVC responded to a fan on its Facebook page.

Fellow QVC host Carolyn Gracie responded to a fan on her Facebook page, saying, “She had a couple of fainting spells due to low blood sugar. Poor thing. She is such a nice girl.”

Khloe Kardashian to Host "The X Factor"?

Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Khloe Kardashian could have a new TV gig lined up: hosting The X Factor, TMZ reports.

The gossip site says Kardashian is the front-runner to become the new host of the talent show, thanks to a well-received screen test.

A source tells the site Kardashian has "at least an 85 percent chance" to land the gig and join Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, and Demi Lovato when the live X Factor shows start airing next month.

Fox will broadcast the two-part season opener of The X Factor next Wednesday and Thursday.

Jimmy Kimmel to Host 2012 Emmy Awards

ABC/MICHAEL DESMOND(LOS ANGELES) -- Late night funny guy Jimmy Kimmel will make his debut as host of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in September, organizers of the television industry’s top honors announced on Monday.

The 2012 Emmys will air live on Kimmel’s home network, ABC, on Sept. 23.  Kimmel himself took home a “Best Game Show Host” Emmy in 1999 as co-host of Comedy Central’s long-running game show Win Ben Stein’s Money.

The Jimmy Kimmel Live host follows in the footsteps of fellow late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon who hosted the awards in 2010.  Last year’s ceremony was hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch.

Kimmel gave a hint of his awards show hosting abilities earlier this year in a special post-Oscars show episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that was considered a hit.  The show featured Oprah Winfrey as the special guest and a taped skit where Kimmel went to Winfrey’s office to pitch show ideas, which led to sketches like Winfrey and Kimmel naked in a bathroom together and another called “Book Club Fight Club,” a riff on Winfrey’s famous book clubs.

Another highlight of Kimmel’s post-show was an eight-minute-long fake movie trailer with celebrity appearances that included George Clooney, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep and Charlize Theron, among others, that had the look and feel of an awards show opening piece.

Kimmel, whose show is currently in its tenth season, will have an opportunity to test-run his hosting abilities, albeit to a different audience, when he hosts the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C., next month.´╗┐

Report: Eddie Murphy Could Host the Oscars

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- After James Franco and Anne Hathaway's critically panned performance as co-hosts of this year's Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences may turn to a high-profile comedian to emcee its 2012 ceremony.

The Los Angeles Times reports Eddie Murphy is a "top candidate" to host the Oscars in February.  The producers of the broadcast, including director Brett Ratner, will meet with Academy President Tom Sherak this week and could make a decision then.

Murphy was nominated for an Oscar in 2007 for his performance in Dreamgirls.  However, many of his films released since then, such as Norbit, Meet Dave and Imagine That, have not been well-received.  His most recent credits include Shrek Forever After and the upcoming Tower Heist.

Chris Rock Saying No to Tonys?

Jemal Countess/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The New York Post reported Wednesday the producers of the usually ratings-challenged Tony Awards telecast were eager to shake things up for the 2011 show in June, and had comic Chris Rock at the top of their hosting wish list.

Rock, who hosted the Academy Awards in 2005, has been winning raves on Broadway with his performance in the play Motherf**ker with a Hat, and is expected to nab a Tony nomination for it. However, as much as the producers of the show want him, Entertainment Weekly reports Rock won't host.

His rep tells the magazine he's willing to be involved with the show in some other way, however.
