Report: George Clooney to Sell Italian Villa to Escape Paparazzi

Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- George Clooney is reportedly looking to sell his mansion on the shores of Lake Como in Italy because members of the paparazzi are permanently camped outside when the star is home and they follow his every move.

The Hollywood Reporter quotes a report by Italian news program TG 24 that says the intrusiveness of the press has gotten to the point where Clooney’s current girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, has given him an ultimatum that he choose the villa or her.

If the report is true, it could mean the end of Clooney's 10-year love affair with the region.  Two years after buying Villa Oleandra in 2002, the 51-year-old actor was made an honorary citizen of Laglio, the town where the villa is located.

The Hollywood Reporter says Clooney also filmed his 2010 movie The American in Italy after he promised the residents of the earthquake-ravaged region of Abruzzo that he would shoot a movie there to help their local economy.

Clooney was also romantically linked to Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis for almost five years and is a regular face at the Venice Film festival.

In an interview with TG 24, photographer Pierpaolo Ferreri defends the actions of the paparazzi, saying, “Clooney is a public figure.  We stay out of the house and try to photograph him when he comes out.  What’s wrong with that?  Let us do our jobs.”

George Clooney’s ‘Astonishing’ Evening in Berlusconi’s Bedroom

Jamie McCarthy/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Actor George Clooney is talking about the night he went to Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi’s home -- infamous for lavish sex parties -- and was invited to the leader’s bedroom. Berlusconi’s bashes have come to be known as “bunga bunga” parties, and Clooney says he got an invite.

In an interview with Time, the Hollywood heartthrob recounted the time when he met with the notorious 75-year-old ladies’ man.  Clooney wanted to solicit Italy’s help in providing assistance to Darfur -- a cause that’s close to the activist actor’s heart. But when the talk of Darfur was over, things  changed.

“I had one evening with Berlusconi that was one of the more astonishing evenings of my life,” he recalled, smiling.

“It was an amazing conversation.  He took me up and showed me his bedroom, and the bed that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin had given him. There are so many jokes, and so little time.”

“It became a very different kind of evening than anyone thought, and I was like, ‘I have to go,’ and he says ‘nooo,’ and I say, ‘no, I really do,’” Clooney, who owns a home in Italy, told Time.

Berlusconi, a media tycoon, allegedly has thrown “bunga bunga” parties at his home with women said to be dressed as nurses and police officers. Berlusconi is being tried for allegedly paying for sex with an underage prostitute.

He denies any wrongdoing. Three of his aides have been indicted in connection with the case.

Clooney had been called to testify in Berlusconi’s defense and has said he would, but noted that he did not attend the “bunga bunga” party, which he was rumored to have.

“I wasn’t at his bunga bunga party,” Clooney declared.

Angelina Jolie Visits with Refugees in Turkey, Italy

Jason Tanner/UNHCR via Getty Images(LAMPEDUSA, Italy) -- Angelina Jolie has been traveling Europe in recent days to meet with refugees as part of her role as an ambassador for the United Nations refugee agency.

On Friday, Jolie visited a Turkish camp near the Syrian border, where she talked with Syrian refugees who escaped their country's violent military response to anti-government protests.

Jolie said most striking were her conversations with children, declaring she was "impressed and disturbed by how much they understand about what's happening in their country, how they speak about family members being killed, themselves hearing gunfire, seeing their houses bombed."

On Sunday, Jolie visited the Italian island of Lampedusa, where she thanked its residents for hosting thousands of refugees who've fled the conflicts in North Africa.  Jolie spoke with refugees there as well.

'Jersey Shore's' Snooki Loses Driver's License After Car Crash in Italy

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Following Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's incident on Monday when she rear-ended a police vehicle in Florence, Italy, the Jersey Shore star has had her driver's license revoked and could possibly be headed to court. reports that the two Italian police officers who were sent to the hospital with whiplash and minor cuts and bruises resulting from Snooki’s fender-bender have 90 days to decide if they want to take civil action against her. 'Jersey Shore's' Snooki Cuffed After Italian Car Crash

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The cast of MTV's Jersey Shore continues to make a lasting impression on their Italian hosts.

Just days after fisticuffs broke out between co-stars Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro while they filmed their show in Italy, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was driving with pal and co-star Deena Cortese when Snooki reportedly crashed into a police car, wedging her vehicle between the cop car and a concrete guardrail.

A source with the MTV show says "zero alcohol was involved" in the incident, and nobody was hurt, but Snooki was cuffed and taken into custody by officers on the scene nonetheless.  She reportedly was not arrested.

'Jersey Shore' Cast Watching Their Weight in Italy

Jason LaVeris/FilmMagi(NEW YORK) -- The stars of MTV's Jersey Shore have landed in Italy for shooting of the hit show's fourth season, and despite the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the trip, keeping their figures seems to be a major concern for some of the cast. In an attempt to search for healthier eating options, some of the cast members have apparently tried to learn a little Italian to help bridge the language gap.

Hot-headed bodybuilder Ronnie Magro explained to People, "I need to know how to order grilled chicken when I get down there. I can't have pasta every day." Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi shared the same worries -- she can't speak Italian, and she's worried Italy is going to give her successful diet the boot.  "We're all gonna get fat," she tells the magazine. "[Going] to Italy and drinking wine and having spaghetti all day -- it throws me off-course."
