Tarantino Lets 'Django Unchained' Off the Chain with Trailer Debut

The Weinstein Company(NEW YORK) -- The first trailer for Quentin Tarantino's period revenge flick Django Unchained has just been revealed, and the snippet promises the film will be chock full of the filmmaker's trademark stylistic violence and offbeat music cues.

The film -- set to Johnny Cash's "Ain't No Grave" and James Brown's "The Payback" -- shows Oscar winner Jamie Foxx as a slave freed by a bounty hunter played by Inglourious Basterds Oscar-nominee Christoph Waltz, who needs his partner to track down a gang of killers. In addition to his freedom, Foxx's character also gets to find his wife, still enslaved by a ruthless slave owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The film opens Dec. 25th.

Jamie Foxx, Tyler Perry Being Sued over Film Project

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Jamie Foxx and Tyler Perry are being sued for $1 million each by a prisoner in Oklahoma who claims the pair stole his idea for a film starring the female alter egos they originally developed for other projects.

Foxx and Perry haven't commented on the matter, according to TMZ, but the site says that the movie -- which is reportedly in development -- is titled Skank Robbers.  It would star singer-actor Foxx as Wanda, his character from In Living Color, while Perry would appear as his movie matriarch Madea, alongside Martin Lawrence, who'd reprise his role as Sheneneh, a character from his '90s sitcom Martin.

Shamont Lyle Sapp -- who tells TMZ he's serving time in Oklahoma for 10 bank robberies -- claims in legal documents that he imagined a film featuring all three characters, but instead of a comedy, he pitched Foxx and Perry a drama that involved a patient holding Madea hostage in a mental hospital.

TMZ also notes that Foxx and Lawrence premiered a Skank Robbers sketch during the 2009 BET Awards show -- one month before Sapp shared his idea with Perry.

Jamie Foxx Hopes to Produce, Direct Jesse Eisenberg in New Movie

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Jamie Foxx and Jesse Eisenberg lend their voices to the animated film Rio, opening Friday, but Foxx is hoping it won't be the last time the two work together.

Foxx is hoping to collaborate with The Social Network star again on a movie from his new production company, No Brainer.

Foxx said, "I got my fingers crossed that he will accept and we'll do something fantastic together and I'll be on the other side of the camera producing and possibly directing him in this really, really clever movie that I have."

Foxx's production company also recently shot what he calls a "teaser pilot" for NBC titled Tommy's Little Girl, starring Selma Blair, Tony Sirico and Paul Sorvino.  Foxx calls the project his "video business card" that will allow him to establish himself as a producer.
