Is ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Rigged?

Alexandra Wyman/WireImage/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- America’s Next Top Model is having a rough couple of weeks: A few days after Wednesday’s dismissal of contestant Angelea Preston, it’s now dealing with accusations that the show is rigged.

In a recent interview, former judge  Janice Dickinson lashed out against the reality series -- which she herself became alienated from in 2005 -- claiming it was the advertisers, not the judges, that ultimately chose the winner.

"[I was] being conned,” the former model told JaniceTV. "Thinking I was actually helping judge a TV franchise … that my say had any input."

Dickinson claims it didn’t.

“You see, CoverGirl  are the people that choose the model, not any of the judges. Not Tyra. People don’t know that!”

Dickinson, who served on the judges panel for seasons one  to four, said that  was the reason she left the series, and blasted the show’s creator and  her former boss Tyra Banks.

“The fact of the matter is [Tyra Banks] makes like $90 million. She makes a lot of money per year still hawking that franchise worldwide -- they’re doing it in every country -- and it’s CoverGirl who chooses the winner.”

CW, America’s Next Top Model’s  parent company, told US Weekly that Dickinson’s claims about the judging were “completely untrue.”

And some might wonder if Dickinson’s animosity is rooted in a larger feud between her and Banks.

Dickinson -- who at the end of the video told Banks to “eat a bag of royal skank”-- publicly attacked the supermodel-turned-mogul last year, describing her as “huge” and saying that she “used to think she was a man.”

While it’s no secret she’s not Banks’ biggest fan, Dickinson insists her recent claims are true.

“Yes, I have a distaste for her,” she reiterated to US Weekly. “In America you say the truth. On TV you can fabricate it, but eventually we all find out.”
