Jason Sudeikis Returning to "SNL" Until January, At Least

Jamie McCarthy/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- When Saturday Night Live begins its 38th season this weekend, you can be sure that Jason Sudeikis will play Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in a sketch.

Though Sudeikis had wavered a bit regarding whether he will be back on the NBC comedy show, SNL creator Lorne Michaels tells The New York Times, "Jason is in."

However, Sudeikis may not be in it for the long haul.

Michaels says, "Right now the idea is that Jason will go through at least until January."  That would take Sudeikis through the election season and possibly the inauguration.

This will mark Sudeikis' eighth season on SNL.  His signature roles include Romney and Vice President Joe Biden.

Michaels also tells the Times that Jay Pharoah will take on the role of President Obama, replacing Fred Armisen.

SNL lost Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg after last season.

Will Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis Remain on "SNL"?

C Flanigan/FilmMagic/Jamie McCarthy/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Saturday Night Live said goodbye to longtime cast member Kristen Wiig over the weekend.  SNL creator Lorne Michaels isn't sure whether any of Wiig's co-stars, namely Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis, will take a cue from her and also leave the NBC series.

It's been rumored for a while that Samberg and Sudeikis will move on.

When asked by TheWrap.com whether the two will remain on SNL, Michaels answered, "You never know," then added, "I think everyone gets through the season and just the level of fatigue by the end is just overwhelming, and it's a very emotional time.  I've had a rule since the second season, which is to not make any decisions in June.  We'll see in July."

Michaels can count on Fred Armisen returning for another season.  Though he's been more busy than usual the past two years due to his work on his IFC comedy Portlandia, Armisen tells TheWrap.com he wants to continue with SNL.

He says, "I hope things keep going.  I don't take anything for granted."

Armisen joined SNL in 2002.

ABC/RICHARD CARTWRIGHT(LOS ANGELES) -- Saturday Night Live may be losing three of its most recognizable cast members at the end of the current season.

Us Weekly reports Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis will say goodbye to SNL next month.

A source says, "It will be a huge blow to the show.  Without Andy's video shorts and Kristen saving every skit, they'll need help!"

A rep for Wiig and Sudeikis tells the magazine, "No decisions are made until the season is over."

All three cast members have busy movie careers, especially Wiig, who co-wrote and starred in the hit 2011 comedy Bridesmaids.

Did Baby Fever Come Between January Jones and Jason Sudeikis?

Jordan Strauss/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- We may not know who the father of January Jones' baby is, but it's likely a safe bet it's not Jason Sudeikis.  A source close to the Mad Men actress said Jones' desire to have a baby caused a rift with the Saturday Night Live star while they dated, reports Us Weekly

The source said, "If Jason were the dad, he'd step it up."  The insider also said Sudeikis was never really into starting a family, explaining, "She told him she wanted kids and it turned him off.  Jason was bummed out she was on the mommy track."

Jones, who revealed last week she's pregnant, hasn't disclosed the father's identity.  It's also unclear if her pregnancy will be written into any Mad Men story line.
