Reba McEntire Among Year's Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees

Photo Courtesy - The Valory Music Co./Facebook(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Tuesday morning in Nashville, in the rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Kix Brooks announced this year's inductees into the Hall.  They are:

MODERN ERA ARTIST CATEGORY:


Reba McEntire -- multi-talented country superstar, actress, businesswoman.  She's scored 35 number one hits and has influenced nearly every female artist on the country charts today, as well as pop stars like Kelly Clarkson.

SONGWRITER CATEGORY:

Bobby Braddock -- songwriter best known for penning George Jones' hit "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and Tammy Wynette's "D-I-V-O-R-C-E."  Also wrote Billy Currington's "People Are Crazy," Tracy Lawrence's "Time Marches On" and Toby Keith's I Wanna Talk About Me," among many other compositions.

VETERANS ERA ARTIST CATEGORY:

Jean Shepard -- pioneering female country star known as the the Grand Lady of the Grand Ole Opry.  Her hits include "A Dear John Letter" and "A Satisfied Mind."

During the announcement on Tuesday, it was revealed that Reba is currently in a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma by the side of her father, Clark Mcentire, who is in a coma following a stroke.  He did, however, find out about his daughter's honor two days prior to suffering the stroke.  Kix Brooks read a personal note from Reba thanking everyone for her honor.
