'Jersey Shore' Returns with New Cast Member

Photo Courtesy - MTV/Josh Kessler(NEW YORK) -- MTV's reality show hit returns Thursday when the third season of Jersey Shore premieres.  Snooki, Pauly D, "The Situation" and the rest of the cast are back for more wholesome fun and games as they head back to the Jersey Shore following last season's stay in Miami.

Jersey Shore's stars will have a fresh face to help them re-adjust to their old surroundings -- a new cast member and old friend of Snooki's named Deena Nicole, who moves into the house and, naturally, creates all sorts of drama.

What will Deena add to the mix?

She says, "I'm definitely more of a lover.  I'm very outgoing, very bubbly, like, very naive, but, um, if someone steps on my toes, I'd be the first one to, like, step up and, like, say how I feel.  I kind of have no filter."

Jersey Shore airs Thursday at 10:00 p.m. ET on MTV.

MTV Reveals Jersey Shore Season Three Trailer

Photo Courtesy - Josh Kessler/MTV(NEW YORK) -- MTV has peeled back the curtain on season three of Jersey Shore.

The new trailer teases all the bleeped-out cursing, sweaty dancing and drunken fisticuffs that made the series a massive hit -- and in some cases led to assault charges.

The third season of the show gets underway Thursday, Jan. 6 at 10:00 p.m. with a new cast member, Deena Nicole.

The Jersey Shore gang will also be helping MTV ring in the New Year during its festivities on New Year's Eve, which reportedly includes lowering Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi in a giant ball.

From Jersey Shore to State Pen?

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(TOMS RIVER, N.J.) -- Jersey Shore's Ronald Ortiz was indicted on assault charges on Thursday.  The indictment, stemming from an incident shown on the television show, was unveiled Friday.

The indictment alleges Ortiz, known as "Ronnie" on the MTV show, knowingly caused harm to Steven Izzo by hitting him with a closed fist.  Izzo, of Berkeley, N.J., was knocked out with the one punch and it was shown in an episode of the show entitled "One Shot."  If convicted, Ortiz could spend up to five years in state prison.

Izzo is suing MTV, show producers and Ortiz in a civil case.

The punch was apparently sparked by another cast member, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, kissing a man in a group at a nightclub back in September 2009.  Izzo was with that group, that also included the man's girlfriend.  There was a heated exchange which prompted Izzo and Ortiz to head outside, where prosecutors say Ortiz dropped the 26-year-old Izzo with the punch.

Ortiz is free on bail.

Barbara Walters Talks to Oprah, 'Fascinating People' in TV Specials

Photo Courtesy - ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Barbara Walters says, "I will never do it again."  She's talking about producing and starring in not one but two back-to-back Thursday night specials on ABC.

In the first one, called Oprah: The Next Chapter, Walters gets Oprah Winfrey to open up, discussing everything from her rumors about her sexuality, to why she never had kids, to her relationships with both Gayle King and longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham.

Winfrey tells Walters that despite all the rumors, she's "not lesbian, not even kinda lesbian" and says the reason why the constant questions bother her is "because it means that somebody must think I'm lying."  She adds, "Why would you want to hide that?  That's not the way I run my life."  Winfrey also says the reason she never had kids is because if she did, the pressures of her job would have led to her neglecting them.  She says, "I have no regrets about that."

In the second special, The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2010, Walters sits down to chat with Sarah Palin, Betty White, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber and the cast of MTV's Jersey Shore, and also mentions Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Prince William's fiancee Kate Middleton, LeBron James and Sandra Bullock.  Walters talks to Betty White about sex and how she has no plans to retire, discusses Justin Bieber's love life and haircut, finds out what kind of American Idol judge J-Lo will be, and learns about Jersey Shore slang like "grenade" and "smush."

As for Palin, she's back for a record third appearance on this annual special and, when asked if she could beat Barack Obama if she ran for president, says, "I believe so."  She reveals what book and which magazines she reads, and dismisses as "silly" reports that she cost the Republican party a Senate majority in the recent elections by backing unqualified candidates.

As for the most fascinating person of 2010, that's still a secret.  Walters, per tradition, won't reveal who it is, except to say, "When you see who this person is, you'll say, 'Yeah. [They] should be."

'The Situation' Is Over: 'Jersey Shore' Star to Dance No More

Photo Courtesy - ABC/Greg Zabilski(LOS ANGELES) -- Jersey Shore cast member Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and partner Karina Smirnoff were voted off of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night.  The pair received the lowest combined number of viewer and judges votes for an Argentine tango performance Monday that judge Bruno Tonioli described as “a terrible mess.”

After getting the bad news, Sorrentino told co-host Tom Bergernon that he tried his best and at the end of the day someone has to go home.  The MTV reality star also said Jersey Shore viewers only get to see a "little keyhole of who he really is," but on Dancing with the Stars, they got to see “the whole situation.”

Backstage after the show, Smirnoff revealed that Sorrentino had been suffering from “either a wisdom tooth or sore throat” all day Tuesday.

The Dancing with the Stars results show also featured The Goo Goo Dolls performing a live acoustic medley of their classic hit “Iris” and their new single “Not Broken.”  The new British act Florence + The Machine performed their hit song “Dog Days Are Over.”

The Dancing with the Stars competition continues next Monday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
