John Stamos Replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Men?' Maybe Not

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Despite rumors that former Full House and ER star John Stamos was being courted by CBS to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, Stamos said Friday that the gig doesn’t quite seem “part of my career plan right now.”

“I’m just on a different trajectory,” Stamos told Ryan Seacrest, according to People.com.

E! Online reported last month that Stamos met with CBS president Les Moonves about a role on the popular sitcom. The plan, according to E!, was not to replace Sheen’s character, but to have Stamos play a new one.

"I'm ready to have my own show," Stamos told Seacrest. "I don't want to replace anyone, especially Charlie Sheen."

Is CBS Eyeing John Stamos to Replace Charlie Sheen on Sitcom?

Photo Courtesy - Frazer Harrison/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Could CBS be bringing in Uncle Jessie to replace Uncle Charlie?

Rumor has it that Full House and ER veteran John Stamos is being courted by CBS to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, according to E! Online. The website reports Stamos met with CBS President Les Moonves as recently as Saturday, and the actor wouldn't step into Sheen's character, but would play a new one.

When rumors started swirling early last week, Stamos tweeted that he wasn't replacing Sheen on Two and a Half Men but joked that Martin Sheen had asked him "to be his son."  This was before the alleged meeting this past weekend.

Sheen himself is unimpressed by the Stamos rumor.  He tells TMZ.com, "If they do that then they deserve their failures and the follies."´╗┐
