Journey Guitarist, Tareq Salahi Settle Lawsuit

Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- Journey guitarist Neal Schon has settled his ongoing legal battle with Tareq Salahi, who sued the musician for $50 million after his wife Michaele left him for Schon.

Though the case had twice been dismissed by a Virginia judge this year, a rep for Journey tells TMZ.com that Schon has settled the case.  The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.

The rep says, "Neal Schon and Journey are very pleased with the resolution of all legal issues and claims involving Mr. Salahi."

Salahi had claimed, among other things, that Schon emailed him a picture of his privates and called him to say, "I'm f**king your wife."  Salahi also claimed that Michaele's affair with Schon cost him well-paying TV opportunities.  He'd planned to appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court.

Before their marriage fell apart, the Salahis were best known for crashing a White House state dinner in 2009.  Tareq filed for divorce last year, not long after his wife left him for Schon.

Michaele Salahi Saga: Journey Guitarist’s Ex-Wife Amber Schon Speaks Out

Neal Schon of Journey and former wife Amber Schon in 2005. Dan MacMedan/WireImage for The Recording Academy(LOS ANGELES) -- The Salahi saga has taken another twist.

Amber Schon, the former wife of Journey guitarist Neal Schon, has stepped into the strange story that has played out for the past few weeks in the full glare of the media spotlight, and she says she intends to use her experiences to help other women avoid the mistakes she made.

But first, a recap. Remember when White House dinner crasher Tareq Salahi said his wife, 45-year-old Michaele, was missing and he feared she had been kidnapped?  Of course, on Sept. 14, just hours after he made a public plea for his wife’s return, he learned that the other half of the Real Housewives of D.C. couple had infamously run away -- and straight into the open arms of Neal Schon.

In a statement released by publicist Jonathan Franks on her behalf Wednesday evening, Amber Schon said she was aware of the intense media interest in her former husband’s “romantic pursuits,” adding that she had a good relationship with Neal Schon’s current wife, former Playboy Playmate Ava Fabian.

“Ms. Schon is a single mother to their two children and is also a full-time student -- her ex-husband’s romantic activities are not at the top of her list of priorities. She is focused on being a good mother and protecting her children’s privacy, especially in the wake of this media circus, is of particular concern to her,” the statement said.

Fabian, who married Schon about two months ago, also isn’t happy. “This is very painful for me. I’m very hurt,” she told TMZ in an interview after the scandal broke.

Amber Schon will make “further comments” on the situation over the coming weeks, but won’t be seeking compensation for her story, Franks’ statement stressed.

“She is working hard on her education to ensure her ability to provide for her daughters in the long term,” the statement added. “At the end of the day, Ms. Schon intends to use her story to empower other women to make good relationship decisions and avoid some of the mistakes she has made.”

Tareq Salahi, 43, has filed for divorce, citing his estranged wife’s “adulterous relationship.”

She has “flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused … me to suffer great harm, humiliation, and embarrassment,” he said in a divorce petition filed just days after he learned his wife had left him.

“There is no hope or possibility of reconciliation,” he said, adding that he “has been greatly hurt and disturbed” by her actions.

And he’s not the only one. Salahi also has claimed that the couple’s Doberman Pinscher, who recently had a heart attack, was also depressed by wife’s absence.

Michaele Salahi might be losing more than her marriage by running off with a rock star. According to the Salahis’ prenuptial agreement, obtained by TMZ, she is stripped of any rights to money or property accumulated during their marriage if she cheats, and she forfeits her right to spousal support if she moves out.

Salahi Divorce Turns Nasty

Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic(HUME, Va.) -- Now that Tareq Salahi has accepted that wife Michaele Salahi was not kidnapped but has instead run off with Journey guitarist Neal Schon, the Real Housewives of D.C. househusband has filed for divorce.

“Over the objections of me, she continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused … me to suffer great harm, humiliation, and embarrassment,” Tareq Salahi said in a divorce petition filed Friday in Warren County, Va., to end their nearly eight-year marriage.

“There is no hope or possibility of reconciliation,” he said, adding that he “has been greatly hurt and disturbed” by her actions.

And he’s not the only one. Tareq Salahi, 43, claims their Doberman Pinscher, which recently had a heart attack, has been too depressed to get out of bed since his wife’s departure. TMZ obtained a video of the pooch.

Schon’s wife of two months, former Playboy Playmate Ava Fabian, also isn’t happy. “This is very painful for me. I’m very hurt,” Fabian told TMZ.

Asked if she would consider getting back together with the 57-year-old rocker, she replied, “Um, no, thank you.”

Michaele Salahi, meanwhile, has locked her husband out of Journey concerts. Signs with his picture and a warning not to allow “this man” backstage despite his all-access pass were plastered at the Aaron’s Amphitheatre in Atlanta recently.

It’s just as well. Who knows how Salahi might have reacted seeing his wife shake her groove thing on stage with Schon. The three were once chummy.

Michaele Salahi, 45, might be losing more than her marriage by running off with a rock star. According to the Salahi’s prenuptial agreement, obtained by TMZ, she is stripped of any rights to money or property accumulated during their marriage if she cheats, and she forfeits her right to spousal support if she moves out.

Tareq Salahi Files for Divorce from Wife, Michaele

Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic(HUME, VA) -- Former reality TV star Tareq Salahi has filed for divorce from his wife, Michaele.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Tareq is citing adultery and abandonment as the reason for divorce.

Trouble began when Salahi had made statements to local law enforcement officials on Tuesday alleging a kidnapping plot involving his wife. He was later “devastated,” however, to receive confirmation that Michaele Salahi was indeed safe, but safe in the arms of another man. The other man was Neil Schon, guitarist for the ’80s rock band Journey.

Tareq Salahi ‘Devastated,’ Won’t Face Charges, Attorney Says

Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- Tareq Salahi, the husband of White House gate crasher and former Real Housewives of DC cast member Michaele Salahi, is relieved that she’s safe but devastated that she’s apparently left him for another man.

“Tareq is devastated but he is relieved to know that Michaele is safe and is okay,” Tareq’s attorney, David Silek, said Thursday on ABC's Good Morning America.  “That was his first concern yesterday.”

For Tareq Salahi, Tuesday began with statements to local law enforcement officials alleging a kidnapping plot involving his wife, and ending with confirmation that Michaele Salahi was indeed safe, but safe in the arms of another man -- Neil Schon, guitarist for the ’80s rock band Journey.

Despite the fact that his wife was never kidnapped, Tareq Salahi won’t face criminal charges for filing false statements regarding her short-lived disappearance, his lawyer said.

“I met with the FBI yesterday, they concluded the case,” Silek confirmed Thursday on GMA, stressing his client would “absolutely” not face charges.

“It was amazing to watch how fast the federal government could find someone in this country and put hands on them, eyes on them and confirm their whereabouts and safety,” he said.

Tareq Salahi became concerned after Michaele failed to show up for a hair appointment.  He launched a very public appeal for help, contacting the celebrity news site TMZ.com on Tuesday morning and posting claims on Facebook and Twitter that he believed his wife “may have been kidnapped or abducted” and was “being held under duress and forced to tell persons, including authorities she is okay.”

A mysterious call from Michaele late Tuesday from an Oregon area code in which she sounded as if “she wasn’t being herself,” according to Tareq, prompted him to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Department at 11:55 p.m. to declare his wife missing.

Just minutes later, the alleged kidnapping case was closed.

“Deputy Mike Glavis subsequently spoke with Mrs. Salahi by telephone a few moments later,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

“Deputy Glavis was able to identify Mrs. Salahi by having previous conversations with her in the past," the statement read.  "She seemed calm, was engaged in conversation, and assured the deputy that she had left the residence with a good friend and was where she wanted to be.  Mrs. Salahi advised that she did not want Mr. Salahi to know where she was.  Mrs. Salahi advised Deputy Glavis that she was very sorry that the Sheriff’s Office had to be involved, but she did not want to be home right now.”

The “good friend” turned out be Journey guitarist Schon, who was with Michaele in Memphis, Schon’s spokesperson confirmed to ABC News Radio Wednesday.

"Don't Stop Believin'" Sets New Digital Download Record

Photo Courtesy - ABC News(SUNNYVALE, Calif.) -- Yahoo! Music's ChartBeat column reports that American rock band Journey's 1981 hit "Don't Stop Believin'" has just passed the four million mark in digital downloads.  That makes it the only song released before the year 2000 that has sold that many copies.  In fact, no other song released before 2000 has even hit three million in download sales.

The song's surge in popularity when it comes to downloads can be attributed to its use in any number of movies and TV shows.  In 2007, the song was featured in the series finale of HBO's The Sopranos.  More recently, it appeared in the very first episode of Fox's Glee in May of 2009, as well as in the show's season finale three months ago.
