"Jersey Shore" Star JWoww Engaged

Bill McCay/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- First Snooki, now her sidekick.  After months of rumors and speculation, Jenni “JWoww” Farley announced on Wednesday that she’s engaged to her long-term boyfriend, Roger Mathews.

“We are happy to confirm that the In Touch Weekly news is true,” JWoww’s rep said in a statement to ABC News.  “We are officially engaged and look forward to this next chapter in our lives!  Thank you to all of our fans for their well wishes.  We hope they find love at the Shore too!”

Mathews, who’s often featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore and the spin-off Snooki & JWoww, popped the question while the two were skydiving on Sept. 14.

“The whole time I’m screaming, ‘What are you doing?  What’s going on?’” she told In Touch of the proposal.  “He’s like, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you!  Will you allow me to?’”

The larger-than-life reality star got an engagement ring to match her personality.

“Roger’s not an average-looking guy, he’s huge: his personality, his size,” said JWoww.  “So I always said, ‘I want my ring like you -- big!  The bigger the better!’”

In a statement, MTV said, “We offer our best wishes and a huge congratulations to Jenni and Roger on the news of their engagement.  After seeing the ring, all we can say is ‘JWOWW.’”

Snooki and JWoww Talk Pregnancy, "Jersey Shore" and Spin-Off

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- MTV premieres its Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki & JWoww, starring Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Thursday night at 10 p.m. Eastern time.

The Jersey Shore starlets stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday to discuss their new show, which features the guidette BFFs moving in together in an apartment in Jersey City, N.J.

The series took a creative turn when Snooki got the surprise news she was expecting, and Polizzi admitted she hesitated telling her best friend as she knew the impact it could have on their relationship, and their show.

"I waited a little bit because I did want to move in with her, but I didn't want to scare her," Snooki said. "So at the last moment I'm like, 'I'm pregnant.  Okay, let's do this.'"

While Snooki is known for her booze-fueled Jersey Shore high-jinks, JWoww insists her little friend is on the straight and narrow.

"She definitely did a 180," JWoww told GMA.  "I don't want to say grew up the hard way, but kinda' did, just like overnight.  No more drinking, smoking, partying.  It was over with the day she found out she was pregnant...I've never seen someone embrace pregnancy the way that she has."

As for Jersey Shore, shooting on season six is currently underway in Jersey now that the girls' spin-off is in the can.  So what can fans expect?

"So far so good," JWoww said.  "But it's definitely a big wait and see."

Snooki added, "You never know, it's the shore."

Snooki Says Being Pregnant Made Her 'More Mature'

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Believe it or not, Snooki says she's matured. The Jersey Shore star revealed Thursday that being pregnant has “just made me more mature,” People magazine reports.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi says she has drastically changed her behavior now that she has a baby on the way.  Snooki says, “It’s different because I’m not drinking. I’m usually partying and going to clubs, but pregnancy made me grow up a lot."  Boyfriend Jionni LaValle, the baby’s father, agrees, saying, Snooki “really came into her own being pregnant.”

In addition to putting the brakes on drinking, being pregnant has also prompted Snooki to give up something she also did most every day: tanning.  Snooki says, “I haven’t tanned since August.”

Snooki made her comments at a press event where MTV announced its Jersey Shore spin-off, Snooki & JWoww, will debut Thursday, June 21st at 10 p.m. Eastern time.

A preview of the upcoming show shows Snooki and pal Jenny "JWoww" Farley picking out a place to live in Jersey City, getting their dogs' hair dyed, and, most significantly, Snooki revealing to her BFF that she's pregnant and engaged. "How did this happen?" asked an incredulous JWoww. "Sex," Snooki responds dryly, then follows it with, "The fact that I can reproduce is very scary."

PETA Unleashes on Snooki and JWoww for Dyeing Their Dogs

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(JERSEY CITY, N.J.) -- Jersey Shore's JWoww and Snooki have run afoul of PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. No, the reality show starlets' animal prints aren't made of real hides, but the apparent dyeing of their dogs' fur has led the animal rights group to blast the guidettes.

Their dogs Bella and Noel were seen sporting pink and purple fur while on a walk with the pair, who are filming their Jersey Shore spin-off this week in Jersey City.

"Dyeing a companion animal's fur causes the animal stress and can lead to complications or allergic reactions that endanger the animal's health," a PETA spokesperson told E! "Our dogs and cats love us regardless of how we look; we should extend the same kindness to them."

Snooki Talks Pregnancy, Baby Names on MTV

Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- MTV aired a Jersey Shore screening party with the cast Thursday night ahead of the season finale.  Snooki was finally able to talk about her pregnancy and explain why she delayed the news.

"I wanted to make sure everything was healthy," she said.

Snooki also talked about how life has changed since she found out she's going to be a mom, saying, "Of course I love partying, but now I'm in total mom mode, and you know, I just can't wait to have a kid now."

She also pointed out a benefit of having a child at the age of 24 that most people haven't considered: "Having a kid so young means, I can be a MILF," meaning a "Mom I'd Like to F***."

While she admits the pregnancy was a surprise, she says she always knew she wanted to be a mom and have "guido babies."

As for baby names, Snooki says if it's a boy, it might be Jionni Jr., Lorenzo, Tommy or Tony.  She has no ideas for girls' names.

Jenni "JWoww" Farley, meanwhile, sounded off about her upcoming TV project with Snooki, saying, "The spin-off is, is more like [a] 'last hurrah' before I settle down with Roger."

JWoww added, "And [it's] kinda the same with [Snooki], 'cause now there's a time limit on [her]."

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(JERSEY CITY, N.J.) -- A wine and spirits store in Jersey City, N.J., has banned Jersey Shore stars Snooki and JWoww from it premises, reports TMZ, which posted pictures of the owner's hand-written "NO SNOOKI" sign.

NJ Mayor Receives Award for Rejecting 'Jersey Shore' Spin-Off

Craig Barritt/Getty Images(HOBOKEN, N.J.) -- After announcing late last month that her city denied a film permit to producers of an upcoming Jersey Shore spin-off, the mayor of Hoboken, N.J., has received kudos from an Italian-American organization.

The Italian-American One Voice Coalition, which aims to fight defamation, discrimination and negative stereotyping against Italian-Americans, was slated to give Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer its "Una Voice" award before a city council meeting on Wednesday night, according to The Jersey Journal.

The president of the organization said in a statement, "MTV’s Jersey Shore has been a blight on the State of New Jersey as well as an insult to all Italian-Americans."

Zimmer has said the film permit was denied "based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents."

In its statement, the Italian-American One Voice Coalition accused Jersey City of taking "one step backwards" by granting a film permit to the spin-off.

The spin-off will star Jersey Shore cast members Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley -- neither of which, incidentally, are actually Italian.
