(LOS ANGELES) -- Kate Walsh has confirmed reports she is leaving Private Practice after its next season.
Walsh discussed her impending departure from the ABC medical drama during an episode of Bethenny Frankel's new daytime talk show, airing Wednesday.
The actress, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery, says, "This is my last season for Private Practice. It's been an incredible journey, an amazing ride. I'm hugely, hugely grateful."
She adds that her leaving the show will be "bittersweet."
Walsh initially played Addison on Grey's Anatomy before bringing her character to the spin-off Private Practice in 2007.
ABC has ordered 13 episodes for the upcoming sixth season of Private Practice. Tim Daly recently announced he won't return to the show.
