LeAnn Rimes Suing Dentist, Says His Bad Work Made Her Career Suffer

Gregg DeGuire/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- LeAnn Rimes is suing her dentist, alleging that his poor dental work is the reason her career has stalled.

The singer is seeking monetary compensation for “loss of earnings and future earning capacity” as well as for the physical, emotional and psychiatric injuries she sustained over a three-year period of treatment, according to court documents.

Rimes alleges that her “ability to perform as an artist has been and will continue to be significantly compromised until all re-treatment is complete.”

In the suit, filed Feb. 14, Rimes alleges “negligent” treatment from her dentist, as she developed “severe tooth pain, gum inflammation and chronic gum bleeding” as a result of faulty crown placement.

In October, the singer was forced to cancel tour dates to undergo dental surgery.

“I’ve been living in a dental nightmare for 10 months. I’m getting back on track though, I hope. I’ve had too many detours this year due to dental issues,” she wrote on her website on Oct. 7.

A representative for Rimes declined to comment.

'Burst Blood Vessel' Stops LeAnn Rimes from Singing on "Kimmel"

Gregg DeGuire/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- LeAnn Rimes' planned performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday evening was apparently pulled at the last minute because, according to the host, the singer burst a blood vessel in her vocal cords.

Rimes did sit down for a chat with Kimmel and explained she had a bout with allergies that required her to get an injection in her nose, and that her doctor put her on strict vocal rest.

"I'm not supposed to be talking," she told Kimmel, "but I'm talking to you."

Rimes revealed she was using a dry erase board to communicate at home, and said she was going on two weeks of vocal rest as soon as the interview was over.

Rimes did manage to talk about her ongoing spat with Brandi Glanville, the ex-wife of Rimes' husband Eddie Cibrian, with whom Rimes had an affair that led to the ends of their previous marriages.

On Bravo's Watch What Happens Live! Monday night, Glanville called Rimes "insane," and Rimes tweeted back for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star to "KMA" -- shorthand for Rimes telling Glanville to kiss her backside.

Kimmel asked Rimes why she even bothered to respond.

"You have a little something that...none of the Real Housewives...have," Kimmel said.  "You're talented."

Rimes explained, she often doesn't take the bait, but, "There comes a time where you're just like, 'Screw You.'...and that's all you want to say...And then you're like, 'I'm done with this for another three months.'"

Rimes recently released "What Have I Done," the first single from her upcoming album Spitfire, due out April 9.

LeAnn Rimes Resents Being Called a Homewrecker

Jacob Andrzejczak/Getty Images for MGM Resorts International(LOS ANGELES) -- Though LeAnn Rimes‘ affair with Eddie Cibrian led to the end of two marriages, she resents being called a homewrecker.

“I’m like, can someone come up with anything like more, I don’t know, original?” she said in a tearful interview with E!’s Giuliana Rancic on Sunday. “Through all the hard stuff, there comes so much beauty on the other side if you just let it happen.”

Rimes, 30, and Cibrian, 39, fell in love in 2009 while filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights.  At the time, Rimes was married to Dean Sheremet. Cibrian had two sons, Mason, 9, and Jake, 5, with his then-wife Brandi Glanville, who’s been feuding with Rimes on Twitter over the past few weeks.

“I had no idea what life was throwing me and I had no idea how to handle it,” Rimes said of meeting Cibrian. “But all I knew was I could not … we couldn’t stop connecting in some way. And it was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”

While Rimes doesn’t regret what happened, she said, “I wish I handled it differently.”

“I wish it could’ve been better for me, for Brandi, for Dean, for Eddie and for everyone else,” she said. “I know in this situation it’s going to take some time, all I wish is that everyone that was hurt, that we hurt, that I hurt, can be happy.”

Cibrian briefly appeared in the interview and also said he has no regrets. He and Rimes married in 2011.

“You’ve got to sometimes fight for what you know eventually is going to be your truth and your happiness,” he said. “I’m a better father for everything that has happened. I’m a better friend. It’s been difficult but it’s, it’s definitely been worth it.”

In August, Rimes sought treatment for anxiety and stress. She told People she needed to, “emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be.”

Rimes and Glanville are still not on good terms. Last week, Glanville claimed that her 9-year-old son got sick after ingesting laxatives belonging Rimes. Rimes’ publicist fired back, telling ABC News that Glanville’s allegations are “threatening,” “mean-spirited” and untrue.

Who Will Replace Sharon Osbourne on "America's Got Talent"?

Michael Tran/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Following the departure of Sharon Osbourne, the producers at America’s Got Talent are working hard to find a replacement.  According to TMZ sources, producers are considering three women: Shannen Doherty, Carly Simon and Leann Rimes.

Osbourne left the show in September after six seasons as a judge.  TMZ says Osbourne decided to call it quits after she claimed NBC dropped her son Jack Osbourne from a reality show due to his MS diagnosis.

And it's possible there may be other seats at the AGT judges' table to be filled.  According to TMZ, both Howard Stern and Howie Mandel are not yet under contract for next season.

The gossip website says no offers have yet been made to Doherty, Simon and Rimes.  In fact, NBC spokesperson Sharon Pannozzo insists that no such short list of prospective judges exists.

LeAnn Rimes in Treatment for 'Anxiety and Stress'

Gregg DeGuire/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- LeAnn Rimes has voluntarily entered treatment to deal with emotional issues, her rep tells People magazine.

In a statement, her spokesman says, "LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30-day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress.  While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms."

He adds, "While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

Rimes, who turned 30 on Tuesday, checked into the facility on Wednesday.  She tells People magazine that she wants to learn how to better deal with her life.

"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," she says, adding, "All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what?  I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much.  I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."

Rimes' husband, Eddie Cibrian, tells People that his wife is "the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," and says he's "so proud" of her for being strong enough to "take some time for herself."

The spokesman confirms to People that Rimes' problems do not include substance abuse or an eating disorder.

During weekend breaks from treatment, her rep tells People that Rimes will keep her September weekend tour obligations.  She's set to release a new album, Spitfire, in the coming months.

LeAnn Rimes Finds a Friend in Maya Angelou

Logan Mock-Bunting/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- Here are two people you probably didn’t picture sharing a bottle of wine together: LeAnn Rimes and Maya Angelou.

The country singer sat down with the acclaimed author in Angelou’s North Carolina home recently for an interview that will be featured on Angelou’s upcoming Hallmark Channel show The Celebration Table. Rimes told X17Online about their conversation.

“We talked about forgiveness, marriage, children, poetry, music, food … and drank great wine together,” she said. “Her spirit is infectious. Meeting her changed my life. She’s a walking angel and the wisest person I’ve ever met. She invited [my husband] Eddie [Cibrian], the kids and me back to her home soon for a few days because she wants to cook for us.”

According to X17, Angelou, 83, has been a fan of Rimes, 29, since the singer was 13 years old. If Rimes’ comments are any indication, their friendship will last even longer.

“I’m happy to call her my friend and she calls me her daughter,” Rimes said. “What an honor.”

LeAnn Rimes Opens up on Affair: 'What Happened Is Not Who I Am'

Photo Courtesy - Jacob Andrzejczak/Getty Images for MGM Resorts International(LOS ANGELES) -- For the past year-and-a-half, LeAnn Rimes has been a walking bull's eye. The country music star has been the target of the tabloids, called a "home wrecker" and a "stalker" over her affair with a married man. But the multi-Grammy award-winning singer says the real story is much deeper and more complicated than it's been portrayed.

"The fact that anyone would print that without actually even talking to my side was shocking," Rimes told ABC News' Robin Roberts about coverage of her controversial affair with actor Eddie Cibrian.

"That's just not me. What happened is not who I am, period. But I do know how much I love him. So I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't."

Rimes and Cibrian met last year on the set of their made-for-TV movie, Northern Lights. The movie received more publicity for its off-screen drama than its on-screen plot, when rumors spread that Rimes, who was then married to dancer Dean Sheremet, was having an affair with Cibrian, who was also married and had two children with model Brandi Glanville.

"It happens everyday to so many people. And I if I take away my album sales, my words, and you have just another couple. You had two couples whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love," Rimes said. "I can't change [critics'] minds. Nothing I'm going to say is going to change it. I do know that and I have accepted that."

Cibrian moved into Rimes' home outside of Los Angeles over the summer. In his first interview, Cibrian opened up to Roberts about his life with Rimes.

"The truth is that we're human beings....We make mistakes and we learn from them, but we're human. We fell in love," Cibrian said. "We're talking about something that's over a year, year and-a-half old, really and we're still together and we're madly in love. And I think people are finally seeing that, but it doesn't mean that people will accept it or the tabloids will stop trying to print lies and try to tear us apart or tear us down."

"We're really happy in what we feel privately," Rimes added. "We hope [that] one day, I think people will feel publicly."
