(NEW YORK) -- On Friday, in front of Strawberry Fields in Central Park, Yoko Ono invited John Lennon fans to a screening of a new film about her late husband's life in New York City. The documentary, entitled LennonNYC, shows how Lennon was enticed by the city and enjoyed the freedom it offered. The screening will be held Oct. 9 in Central Park, on what would have been Lennon's 70th birthday. He was shot dead in front of his apartment building, located across the street from the park, by a man who had been denied parole for the sixth time. The film is set to premiere Sept. 25 at the New York Film Festival, and will air Nov. 22 on PBS.
