Mark Wahlberg Finishing High School Online

Indigo/Getty Images(BOSTON) -- He's got a successful film career as an actor and producer that includes two Oscar nominations, but Mark Wahlberg doesn't have a high school diploma. That, however, is about to change.

After reading that 41-year-old Wahlberg regretted dropping out of high school his freshman year, Kerry Tondorf, the headmaster of Boston's Snowden International High School in Copley Square, wrote to Wahlberg, telling him of a program the school offers to allow students to complete their high school educations online.

Says Tondorf, "He called me the next day, and he seemed very excited and serious about the opportunity," reports the Boston Globe.

Snowden International High School in Copley Square was known as Copley Square High School when Wahlberg dropped out to give showbiz a try.  Over 25 years later, he's already enrolled in the online program to complete his high school education and has even signed up for his first class.

The program allows students to study and complete classes at their own pace, just as long as they log in at least once a week.

Mark Wahlberg: I Could Have Prevented 9/11 Attack

Indigo/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Although he plays an action hero on the big screen, Mark Wahlberg seems to think his heroic chops -- and his pugilistic past -- could have changed one of the darkest days in American history.

In an interview with Men's Journal, the Contraband star says he was booked on one of the flights that was hijacked on 9/11, but his flight was rescheduled.

Although the twist of fate spared him from the terror attacks, Wahlberg seems confident he could have spared a lot of bloodshed that day -- of the civilians, that is.  The hijackers wouldn't have been so lucky, Wahlberg boasts.

"If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did.  There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'Okay, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.'"

Wahlberg has since backtracked on his comments, saying in a statement released Wednesday, "To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible.  I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention."

Mark, Donnie Wahlberg Banking on Burger Business

Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage(BOSTON) -- Mark Wahlberg and his brother, Donnie, are going into the burger business together.

They will open a burger joint in their native Boston called Wahlburgers Restaurant.

Rochester, New York's Democrat and Chronicle reports that the brothers had to license the Wahlburger name from the western New York restaurant chain Tom Wahl's, which owns the trademark to "Wahlburger."
