Hugh Hefner's Son Pleads No Contest in Abuse Case

Brian To/FilmMagic(PASADENA, Calif.) -- Marston Hefner, the 21-year-old son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, pleaded no contest in a Pasadena, Calif., courthouse Tuesday, in the wake of a domestic violence arrest last month.

The New York Daily News reports Hefner was arrested inside his Pasadena apartment on Feb. 12, after an altercation that left his 2011 Playmate of the Year girlfriend Claire Sinclair bruised and her laptop smashed.

Hefner was sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence program and must undergo periodic progress reports with the court over the next three years.

Playmate Wants Hefner Apology for Alleged Attack

Brian To/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair is awaiting a public apology after Hugh Hefner’s oldest son, Marston Hefner, was arrested Sunday night for allegedly attacking her, according to Pasadena, Calif, police. The Playmate said she will not press charges if boyfriend Marston Hefner issues a public apology.

“I’m looking forward to a public apology,” Sinclair told ABC News on Monday. “I am against any sort of domestic violence so once that’s done, I’m ready to bury this and leave it in my past.”

Police were called to the home that Hefner and Sinclair share in Pasadena after she called 911 reporting that Hefner had attacked her, Lt. Phlunte Riddle of the Pasadena police department told ABC News.

When officers arrived at the scene, Sinclair, 20, had redness and scratches on her arms, Riddle said. Sinclair told police Hefner punched and kicked her. Hefner, 21, admitted the couple had an argument but denied that it got physical, Riddle said. Based on the officer’s assessment, police did take Hefner into custody.

“It was really ridiculous,” Sinclair said. “I wanted to leave and his car was blocking mine. He wouldn’t give me the keys or move the car and that’s when he hit me.”

Hefner was arrested for battery but was released on $20,000 bail at 2 a.m., police said. He could not be reached for comment, but Hugh Hefner told People magazine, “If they care about each other, they’ll patch it up.”

Riddle said Sinclair has obtained an emergency restraining order against Hefner, and Sinclair says she is in the process of moving out.

“I don’t want any problems moving forward,” Sinclair said. “I need to be completely distanced.”

The couple has been dating on and off since August 2010. They haven’t spoken since the alleged altercation, Sinclair said, and she doesn’t plan on doing so.

“I can only hope Marston gets psychiatric help and seeks medicine for his anger,” Sinclair said.

The model was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 2011.
